Please Stop with the Ridiculous Berzerker Weapon Ideas/Class Suggestions in General

I'm really tired about (insert stupid weapon that doesn't fit the game's style here) threads. This isn't a matter of opinion. Some weapons just won't work with Killing Floor's style.

The katana was taking it about as far as it can go. Please, no cattle prod, sword and shield, or (horror of horrors) halberd.

A halberd? In Killing Floor? Can you think about what you're saying before you post it, please?

Along the same lines, it's understandable that everyone's pissed off, especially the newly ex-'zerkers, about the 'zerker "nerf". I pose this: 'zerkers needed to be nerfed after the Heavy Metal patch, but not this much. On another note, there's a 95% chance that your "wonderful idea" for a new class mechanic will be outright ignored. Most of the suggestions I've read on these boards have either been impractical or make the class overpowered. Also, I'm sure that TripWire is working on the problems of their own accord, and have already either delineated solutions, or are on the way to them. Thus, outside info doesn't help much, if at all.

So, if you tl/dr'd, Summary: Stop with the stupid 'zerker weapon ideas that don't fit the game. Also, please think about the feasibility of the suggestions you make, and recognize that your shiny new "weapon list" thread is one of approximately 5,000 identical threads.

If you agree with me, /sign this, and maybe people will see the thread title and refrain from exercising their grotesque medieval fetishes while posting.

the only solid-ish zerker idea i've seen is the not-slowed-by-zed-time one, or at least, less severe, it's almost impossible to get all of the ZED extensions becase your attacks get slowed to hell and back

I'm an in-house programmer, meaning the users of the software are in the same building as me, and thus I hear about every single request.
Something to know about users is, they don't understand the difference between a big change and a little change.

Adding new weapons and game mechanics is a big change, and tweaking the stats on the chainsaw is a small change. Unfortunately a typical user doesn't seem to understand the difference.

I'm certain Tripwire will fix zerker in the next patch by slightly scaling back the last changes they made. Hence there is no need for crazy new features which will break the game more, and no need to discuss such ideas.

The berzerkers already have 5 weapons, plenty.

It's just that the weapons need balancing, with effectiveness and unique features.

The axe and machete need extra worth, other than begin a cheap weapon to hold you off for a wave or two until you can get the chainsaw/katana. Maybe the machete should have extra decapitation power, and the axe should have extra 'killing blow' damage, dealing extra [up to double, depending on perk level? something like that] damage when it will finish off a zed, but not when it would just damage it. Or the axe could leave bleeding damage. "Stitch this, you assholes."

The chainsaw and katana need to either have more specialized roles, or it needs to be made clear that one is higher tier than the other. Right now, they're both 1k and do the same general thing.

I love the Katana and have fallen in love with the Berserker Class.

It gives the game a brand new perspective without using any long-ranged weapons.

I just wish there was a way to better stand up to Fleshpounds w/o bringing dishonor in using firearms... hahaha.

Perhaps Kunai... seriously, just kidding. :)

These are good ideas. As someone posted above, some people don't understand the difference in manpower or time between new weapons/mechanics and balancing.

lol at 12" vinyl :D also the baseball bat with spikes from shaun of the dead could be nice addition. But i think the berserk perk is as good as it gets and it needs no tweaking. Axe, chainsaw, and katana are all good weapons for him to use (maybe machete too on couple of first waves).

Offensively the berserker has everything it needs, though I certainly wouldn't say no to a novelty thrown weapon like the 12" vinyl :).

Defensively I've suggested the riot shield + baton before. Not ridiculous, certainly fits the theme (hell half the basic player models are riot police). Would add a nice new element to the class, wouldn't be imbalanced either if implemented right. I certainly think tripwire ought to think about something like that.

I want my pike, halberd or polearm that is slow as hell, can reach the other side of the map and has high AoE with secondary attack.

Then we can have pikewalls that are used as first line of defence and zerkers poking with them.

Specifically meaning those endlessly dumb weapon (serial number) lists with no description or anything.
Why people think anyone gives two squirts of anything about those, I have no idea and they start littering up the suggestions board.
