Not that I AM one of the top players, most rounds. But I was tonight.
I was on Spartanonovka, or whatever that is called. A SL. I get after my team for letting the Germans take the Gullies and the Church without a fight.
I rally them to take back Block 1 once.
On four separate occasions I single-handedly stop four pushes on extreme left of Block 2 and rally my team to come back over and retake it.
I am there so long I run out of ammo and am down to scrounged grenades.
Finally they shoot me.
And *poof* "This server has team balance go play for the side you just fought so hard against"
I quit the game, rather than go play for the team I had worked up such competitive zeal to defeat.
I understand why they have team balance like this. But can't they set it up to take players from the bottom of the score list?
If it was a Fire Fight I would not mind, even the one where you don't respawn until the next objective would not be that bad.
But on Territory? When you spend all that effort to win or defend objectives and then suddenly you are expected to say "OK. I will suddenly switch teams in mid game. Who gives a rat's ascot about team cohesion? It's really just a fragfest, no one cares about their team or winning the game."
Well I am too competitive a team player for that.
If I was not adding much, just arrived, not effective, way down the list, I would not mind so much. But when I am in a leadership role or among the top 4 or 5 scorers for my team, which I was in that case, I am not going to do that. Not after investing so much in helping a particular team win.
From this point onward, until TWI changes it to team balance only taking players below the top fiver scorers, or perhaps bases it on players who joined the server most recently, I am going to instantly quit any game that asks me to change sides, rather than help such servers "balance" the teams and perpetuate this inane practice.
