I don't know who we'll end up with for the music, but on a completely personal level I totally agree with you about his music. I loved the stuff from VietCong. Many, many years ago I'd fire up VC just to listen to the "Pseudo Hendrix" track (back before you could just YouTube things).

Rude Kostry is a music band. They should still exist, hard to tell.

Petr Mores is the main guy and listed in VC credits as Music Director.

I don't want to disappoint you guys, but I think they don't exist any more, it seems that they stopped in 2007. (Or at least that's what their website say, but I'm not sure tho)
It's such a shame, their music gave Vietcong great atmosphere.

But I think that you can still contact them, it seems that at least few of them are somewhat still active. I found their Facebook page, so I can ask, I guess.

EDIT: So I got message from them, rather good one! So they still exist, they recently made soundtrack to some mobile game, so they are willing to make soundtrack for RO! Tripwire, please contact them!!

I didn't even really play Vietcong, I just tried the demo a few times, but that Rude Kostry pseudohendrix guitar riff has really stuck with me throughout my life, moreso than pretty much any other song. It's like it tapped right into my soul and stayed there. I would leave the Vietcong demo menu open sometimes just to listen to it on loop.

I first heard it around the time I started playing guitar, and i remember thinking. "THAT'S what I want to be able to do with this thing." The raw emotion that Rude Kostry is able to convey in that riff is amazing, and it sounded like something straight out of the Vietnam era. It's a masterpiece.

Rarely has a week gone by in the last 12 years where i don't pick up my guitar and try to play that riff as best I can.

Hello nostalgia. That would be fantastic if we could get a similar vein of music. I would play it from the loud speakers on my Huey for all to hear!

I produced some demos for RS2 and I know some folks over there have listened to them. Seeing as I'm not under contract I'm gonna post my demos here too :)

First cue is intended for NVA, and after a short pause, the second one for the US.

I had a ton of fun writing the tracks and was really inspired to work on it. I wanted the NVA to sound very distinctive and identifiable, and the US forces to sound original and also appropriate for their setting. You can read more in the description I've put on Soundcloud if you want to know what I was thinking in terms of composition.

As well as the Vietcong soundtrack, another one that really stuck with me was the Eve of Destruction BF1942 mod menu music

Thank you for posting this wonderful soundtrack.

It makes me shed a tear for the glory days of 2004-2006 when we used to see full 64/64 EOD servers.

It is the one soundtrack from any Vietnam game that has stuck with me.

EOD BF1942 was the best Vietnam game ever.

I'm glad to see it has not been forgotten.

Good god damn, that was awesome. 0:00 to 0:15 screamed jungle fight, 0:18 to 0:42 had a nice sort of Soviet influence to it, and then the rest on had some nice brass thrown in to accommodate the Americans
