I usually play multiplayer games with friends as it automatically makes the games twice as fun for me, versus playing it with complete randoms.

Unfortunately all the RO games didn't have any features that would support playing with friends. I really hope RS2 can improve in this department, so I'd like to suggest some ideas:

1. Highlight friends' names with a different color
2. Let friends' names show further away than other teammates
3. Let friends spawn together - when 2 or more friends are waiting in queue to spawn, let them choose "Spawn on friend" and spawn them all at the same location.
4. Joining a server as a party - this one is probably difficult to achieve, but streamlining the process of joining a server (and the same side) together would be greatly appreciated.

I might have missed something, so I might complete this post with more ideas. I'd really love to hear what you guys from Tripwire and Antimatter think about this.

I mostly agree with you. I too only play online games with friends. But I see no need for this party thingy. One of you joins a server, others joins the same server via "Friends" menu. Problem solved.

Not really. Sometimes it's a real pain in the ***. With current state of server browser - it's hard to find a server with enough free slots. Sometimes it shows 55/60, you start joining, load up the map... and bam, get disconnected because the server is apparently full. Then, if you successfully join a server, you also need to join the same team, which, if the server is almost full, could also be troublesome.

What's the negative side of joining as a party?
