Nice troll Lobo & Nader, A+...

@OP. The beta is still active for bug testing purposes.

Also, current player count averages seem to have stabilized around daily peaks of 2500-3000 players. I suspect many players are waiting for bug fixes, as this game has its fair share of game breakers.

The sewers of Leningrad.
Do you know why TF2 has a beta? To test patches on a smaller scale before fully releasing them to the public. TW does the same thing with RO2.

Player base? There will be an increase when bugs are cleared, SDK is released and maps are made. I think I saw the players hit 3200 last night.

I'm already seeing smart assiness of the RO2 community.

Cha-ching good one lol

I still have some faith in RO2, but a little part of me weeps a bit for the moribund RO1

@ Josef Nader.

Why would you read his post more than once? Is that what you do? Reread threads in the forum.

And to answer your question.

Huh, okay. Apparently I was being insulting.

Why -wouldn't- people still be playing this game? It's got a solid core, a lot of fun features, and is one of the most immersive and satisfying FPS experiences I've ever had. I know I'm not alone in these feelings.

Anyone care to elaborate on why people shouldn't be playing this game, or why it should be problematic for the Beta to still be out, or what any of this has to do with the playerbase?

I play it because I bought it. If someone was to ask on my opinion, I would say not to get the game because it's buggy and erratic and just another shooter up game.

I'm still having a hard time accepting that this is Red Orchestra, and can't seem to be immersed in the game.

Manually attaching the bayo to K98 was a fun feature for me. I don't know if I could name one for RO2....
I don't consider being shell shocked for no apparent reason when I'm not under any sort of danger a fun feature.

But yeah it's a question of being shouldn't and wouldn't. As far as why Beta is still out, may be it's because this game is in beta quality. Donno.
Playerbase has been very low for a big. I see it's picking up, but the quality is what I am wondering.

Perhaps he was just curious.

I could think of many reasons as to why people are not.

No, you can think of many reasons why -you- are not playing, or why the people who complain on the forums aren't playing. The people currently playing vastly outnumbers the number of people on the forums currently whinging about every little change and feature in RO2.

It's a matter of opinion. Just because there's a vocal group of people pissed off about the fact that RO2 isn't a RO1 reskin doesn't mean that everyone is required to hate it.

Which again, Nader, is your opinion.
And to address the amount of people who play the game, I have a feeling these are CoDers checking the game out since it closely mimics it and a new CoD hasn't come out for this week yet.
And also I am expecting #s to drop by more than half once BF3 comes out.

You guys just crack me up. Seriously. Name one actual similarity between Call of Duty and Red Orchestra 2.

The arguments you guys put out are ridiculous, most of them are whining, and it's the standard "they changed it now it sucks" attitude that's prevalent in quite a few fanbases. The only way you can conceive TWI changing -anything- about the RO1 formula is so that they could be evil sellouts determined to ruin all your fun, and cutting a lot of the bad features and clunky design has only made the game easymode CoD. It's preposterous.

Class progression. Weapon level up, small maps, no recoil, crass model designs, promotes spraying.

Your move.

Clearly you've never played CoD. This game doesn't mimic it in a single way, shape, or form! The only similarity is that you carry a weapon in both.

[Opinion_Forthcoming] I believe when the dust settles this game will have a more sizable player base than RO1 did. I admit I could clearly be wrong. However, I think it will. It may be a completely different base than RO1, but that's okay too. There is a very LARGE contingent of "former CoDers" extremely pissed at everything CoD and if nothing else, many of them (myself included) will play this game for a long time (and hoping/expecting mods to fix the things I don't like) because of that disgust at IW/Activision. [/Opinion_Forthcoming]

I also hope that when the SDK finally releases and mods come about, many of the currently disenfranchised RO1 players will find the game they were hoping for.

Hello l337 gamer paradise.

The RO community has always been like that. :p

We think we're better than other gamer's because of our desire for hardcore realism...and you know what. I think we are better! :)

Class progression.

CoD has classes? I was under the impression that you could equip any weapon and perk combination you had unlocked from the word go with absolutely no constraints.

Weapon level up

Lol wut? You unlock new weapons as you level up in CoD. Your individual weapons don't get any better, you just unlock better ones.

small maps

Have you played on Fallen Fighters, RO Factory, Pavlov's House, Commisar's House, or Spartanovka lately? CoD maps don't get -nearly- that big.

no recoil

Not sure what game you've been playing, but RO2 has plenty of recoil. I can't fire my LMG for more than a second or two without going off target. Perhaps you're referencing the fact that I can fire an SMG without it aiming at the sky after a second or two? Well, that's because RO2 is focused on realism, as opposed to weapon balance, and it realistically isn't that hard to keep an SMG relatively on-target.

crass model designs

Not sure what you mean by this. I see a lot of little details on all the models and stuff.

promotes spraying.

Not sure about you, but I out-shoot any of the chuckleheads who try to hold down the trigger and spray at me. It's not that hard. Anyone with a modicum of weapon control and trigger discipline will beat a sprayer 10/10 times.

Your move.

RO2 HAS GUNS, AND SO DOES CALL OF DUTY! THEY'RE EXACTLY ALIKE!

Quit being so reactionary and relying on these stupid arguments to support your flimsy opinions. Come up with legitimate criticisms and maybe people will take you seriously.
