Player collisions

So far I've noticed that player collisions are turned OFF, are there any plans of changing this?

I personally like it much more the way it was in RO1, were there would only be room for one gunner per window, the panic in hallways when a grenade would come tumbling in, and especially; crashing into an enemy when rounding a corner, only to stop and engage in fierce melee fighting.

Running through teammates and enemies kinda removes a lot of realism for my part :/

I really miss this. It's not the same running through an enemy and turning around to blast him. At least the Dev's can't say it's down to realism. Maybe it's a feature not yet implemented, or maybe they thought they'd remove blockages. Either way, it was better before.

Its annoying when I'm shooting enemies and some idiot runs through me in front of the barrel of my gun and I get a TK because of that.

I agree with that except when someone is prone, i don't like to see the bumping up and down when someone is standing on someone else who is prone again like it was in RO1.

Collision should be in.

Someone offered the scenario of trying to melee someone in the back, at the last second he walks backwards, straight through you, you miss, he shoots you in the back.
It would be better if people would slowly shove someone away when they collide, this will work against grieving while retaining the realism.

Leave out it always was a nightmare in the UT03/04 mod and retail, ppl blocking doorways that led to caps and so forth it always got on my tits.

I like it how it stands mostly,

However!

It would be great if "bumping" into another person made them react in some way.. like if you have iron sights up and someone randomly runs into you, you would lower your weapon... (as annoying as this would be it would be realistic and add a layer of teamwork and chaos that would be quite good)

if a player got in the way and didn't move, execute the SOB. easy solution. I do like how mgs can cover the stairs and not block others in RO2 :)

Characters collisions should be on but you shoud always be able to go over someone who is proning or who is leaning in a door (using cover system or not).

I cant really decide what I dislike more , In ro2 you seem to have so many people pushing there way to a windows.

In ro1 you are at a window and cant get away because of the people behind you. The first game of ro1 I played after 15hours of beta I got blocked :mad:.

I really don't know which is the lesser evil.

I would have to agree. Why is it that your weapon has collision detection against walls, yet the players can go through each other? Perhaps to prevent them from being stuck on or into things?

I personally would prefer a tf2 style clipping system where you cant clip through enemy's but you can still clip through teammates; although this system still has its issues of tking a teammate who ran through you.

I enjoy the fact that players can clip through each other.. that way blocking doesn't occur in tight spaces.. It really sucks getting killed because someone is prone and you can hardly see them, or 4 players trying to run away from a grenade through the same door.

Being able to clip through team mates simplifies the whole operation of moving around.. and there are no asshats because of it.
