For example, if you have a svt and fire two shots and one is "lost" due to that bug, the one that hits him will likely drop him. With the pistol chances are very high that the one shot that registers will not be an instant kill.

This is the single biggest complaint I have with how hit detection and shooting works. Using the SVT or anything else on semi auto, at close range it just feels like those first one or two shots vanish into thin air. Lots of times I've fired a single shot, being guaranteed to hit someone....and died because it just never registered. Meanwhile my opponent head shots me with an MP40 like it's nothing.

It's gotten to the point where I fire way more rounds than necessary in CQC to kill someone, just to be on the safe side.

Meanwhile, at 50 or more, I single shot perfectly every time.

This is my single biggest gripe as far as performance is concerned. Mkb42's & SVT's rule indoors, because I of the 10 shots they hit you with in the space of a second is bound to register. You can blow someone's left lung out their back with a 7.62, but it doesn't seem to matter ...

Yeah. I always shoot for center body mass, always have. And it usually goes....

"See guy."
"Guy sees me."
"Draw up."
"Guy draws up."
"Fire two shots right into him."
"Go spinning to the ground dead."
"Guy bandages."

Only rarely do I wound him bad enough to make him bleed out seconds later. It just makes no sense. 2 7.62s to the chest should be fatal. I don't care if he kills me at the exact moment I kill him....it just feels off.

I know it works, sometimes. It just irritates me when it doesn't, because I'm really liking that in RO2, shooting for center body mass is actually legit. Except when it doesn't register them as really fatal...the game gets reduced back down to the unrealistic shooting for the head always.

I think pistols are great, even tough I only used N1895 revolver once I hit a german in neck on 50 metres.

I don't think there's anything wrong with them specifically. Generally from the hip I can empty the weapon and not kill someone, but if I aim down the sights they tend to be a one shot kill more often than bolt rifles. Go figure.

Lol, 1 shot? Riiiiiight. More like 3-4

I do it all the time. One shot is all that's necessary when the game isn't being a prick about it. I honestly have more difficulty killing with the bolt actions, where a shot to the chest can frequently be survived without bandaging (and the rest of the time a bandage tends to do the trick, patching up those punctured lungs no sweat...).

I need 3-4 shots in the chest/neck with the p 38

I had some amazing runs with the pistol last night. I was an AT gunner and half the fighting was taking place in a house, so I was like "well crap" until my pistol gave me like a 5 person kill streak.

Much respect, pistol.

At close range, I usually end up firing off maybe 5 shots, even if the first or second shot was fatal. That's because there's quite a delay between firing the fatal shot and realising that the dude isn't going to be shooting back any more. They don't always hit the dirt straight away. Maybe this contributes to the perception that pistols lack stopping power?

Anything above the waist and not in the shoulder should pretty much be a fatal wound.
It's certainly supposed to be, but it's just not working properly at present. I don't know if it's because it's broken or because things have changed since my current SDK build. You're not supposed to be able to bandage most of those wounds, but currently you can and easily survive. It severely breaks the effectiveness of bolt actions because even if you get the first shot in, you rarely get the kill.

Nagant is a bit weak, but what do you expect? The thing looks like a .38 special.

The TT33 is a beast. I've won a short-range shooting duel against an MP40 with that thing. Makes the effort of levelling up on the DP-28 worthwhile.

I wonder if shots are somehow getting registered to non-fatal body parts. Because I seem to end up with an awful lot of arm wounds in CQC, which seems pretty odd since I know MY VIEW is almost always filled with pure torso.

I've only really used the revolver, but I found it to be fairly effective. It definitely pays to aim with it, though.. because if you fire it off quickly or hipfire, you're likely to inflict non-fatal wounds. I'd say it performed as expected. Not the power of a SMG or rifle, but deadly enough if used properly.

that would be the lag.

The fact that we have to lead in close quarters combat is horrible gameplay.

I find pistols quite effective in close range. They are much more accurate then RO1 and can be deadly if you hit them in the head or if you aim for the heart(Even if they get you they will bleed out if you hit the heart.).
