I sometimes have the nooblike problem that i get killed by a pipebomb of mine when i had forgotten that i placed it just there. Maybe there could be the ability of at least the demolition perk to see the own pipebombs on a perklevel related distance, just like a little light above them or they glow a bit.

And combined with this ability i think it would be useful if you could pick up your own pipebombs to place them somewhere else, i mean theres only an on/off button so this could be realistic.

Uhh, isn't that kinda why they beep?

i second this, but im not 100% this could be coded.

Anything and everything is possible with Unreal Engine ;)

Maybe have a subtle glow around pipe bombs that you placed but only for you. Or if you have played Ballistic Weapons(Ut2004 mod), the FP9 bomb displayed the bombs when you had the detonator out and your X was pointing in the right direction.

Are you even a coder...

I don't really like the idea i think its a great con against the demo for him not to know where he planted his instant killer at(on suicidal it takes a few but still..).

Yeah, you're right. If you listen closely, the pipe bombs you place yourself (that can blow you up) make a slightly different beeping noise than other pipes.

Of course, when there many pipes, it's really hard to hear the difference.

EDIT: Fine. No moar spam. Because Rick Astley is considered offensive material.

Which internet browser do you use? Might I suggest Google Chrome? It is immune to such tomfoolery.

I use Firefox but choose not to use things like Noscript. What I don't see is why you would post something like that in a thread where it has no place at all and then try to give a short lecture about how to prevent it. What ya doin, advertising Google Chrome?? :l

Pipebombs suck. They are ruining the game. They should detonate when other pipebombs of other players detonate. Grenades should detonate them as well. Anyone's bullets should detonate them also. There should be a hard limit of 3 dropped per demo and no other perk should be able to use them.

Ruining the game.

Make pipebombs all detonate on altfire.
Bam, no more pipebomb spam. No more minefields of magical bull****bombs.
Less people blowing themselves up.

How are those things only "proximity" detonated by ZEDs anyway?
Do they sense their magical brainwaves? Do they have eyes to tell the players from the enemies apart?
Is there a goblin living in a pipebomb, detonating it only when it sees a large clone walking nearby?
They even have an antennae which suggests they receive some sort of signal anyway so why that proximity travesty?

It uses radio waves and senses the "shape" of objects etc. since all the zeds are clones it knows exactly what each zed "looks" like so by basically using a sonar type detonation it senses when the right amount of zeds are the right zed is around the proximity mine :p

I don't like this. This will make things easier for the massive pipe spamming demos.

Pipes NEED a cap. Placing 20 some pipes is just game-breaking. Since the pipe was put in the game, I always thought they were over powered and easily exploitable.

In truth, the ONLY downside to pipes is the small chance of blowing yourself up. Remove that threat and the map will be carpeted with pipes, and thats just no fun.
