Well for the past 2 days I've been having weird ping issues in TF2, RO and CoD4, basically any game I play.
The ping just goes up and down gradually and I start warping all over the place;
I did a speed test( http://www.speedtest.net/result/216352885.png ) and even though my max speed is 2Mbit,
1.5 should still be more than enough for decent playing.
Has anyone got an idea of what might be causing this?

Drive antivirus and what not the usual crap.

Check the settings of yuor adsl modem, if yuo dont know yuor isp providor should have some sort of helpdesk where to ask them.

Firewall, try it whit just the windows basic one. I know it's not pro or anything but it rarely conflicts whit anything so...well doesnt hurt to test it.

Borrow new modem from a friend. Some Capacitor gets unstable, but still works weirdly or sumfink.

I assume that you have not installed any new programs lately !
No little spy wares interrogating the system ?
Check your active processes and see whats eating what.
I once installed a false Vista desk toys (on XP) and that mucked everything up...

ISP doing maintenance ?

Maybe your ISP is doing some maintenance. Best odds of finding out what is really going on is to check some forums. Calling them usually gets you nowhere.

If you were in the US, I would advise you to check dslreports.com for lossy routers. They are quite common and quite the "pita" when one is between you and your destination. As the load on the internets increases with the holiday season, I would suspect that bottlenecks on a fragile system are a regular occurance for many. Perhaps your ISP is getting overloaded, too. In any event, I've noticed a general degradation in internet performance in the past week or so.

Then, too, perhaps your ISP is throttling some of the more common ports, too.

Cant recall where right now, but I heard somewhere that Comcast(grrr) does indeed throttle down some ports. I also agree on the "holiday traffic" thing, its likely to last until late January.

Thanks to all who gave helpful advice. :)
This thread had served it's purpose and a lock seems to be in order.

Negatory,I am still not exactly sure how it got fixed :p
I basically called a guy from the help desk of my ISP, put my router in bridge mode and had no problems after that.
Might have been internet villains stealing my bandwidth D=
