Info about the German Stalhelm.

The Stahlhelm is also able to take direct small arms fire. 9mm, and buckshot rounds with a direct hit with only causing minor dents or sometimes none to the helmet. It was a very effective helmet during World War 2, and very useful for defence against shrapnel.

but, who knows if the person wearing the helmet gets knocked out even though the bullet is stopped. and don’t say he will be knocked out, i don’t know, you don’t know.
maybe someone know a smarty pants program, that calculates the effect the kinetic energy of the bullet. 9mm bullets won’t transfer much energy though. Rifle and mg will though.

The Fallschirmjager had better helmets then normal troops.

A special version of the German armed forces' (Wehrmacht's) modernized steel helmet (Stahlhelm), the M1935, called the Fallschirmhelm, was designed and issued to Fallschirmj

This wouldn't be useful at all. Helmets in the game are just cosmetic, they don't offer any extra protection. Nobody would use this feature because stopping to pick up your helmet would make you a sitting duck.

For those that stand by that Wikipedia post, I challenge you to wear a German helmet and we can commence to firing 9mm and buckshot directly at. We'll throw in some shrapnel too.

Do you really believe TW create an accurate ballistics model for helmets and bullets when there is barely one in place for tanks? Especially considering how much more important shell deflections are for tank armor than for helmets?

Given that the kinetic energy of the bullet is low or greatly expended before it hits the helmet, and presuming the angle is also bit favorable.

You could survive submachinegun bullet or a handgun bullet from 200-300 yards without any real damage but a rifle bullet would simply just go through it. Even a small shrapnel in bad angle could just piece through it and take part of your brains with it. The idea of a helmet is not really to protect from small arms fire or bullets but from debree (sand, small rocks etc) that are guaranteed to fly around when there's war going on, and even shrapnels given you have some luck with it.

But I wouldn't mind if bullets fired from certain ranges (E.G. rifle bullet 600+ yards, SMG 200+ yards etc) that would hit the helmet would have small odds of not dealing any 'real' damage.

I just feel that these Wikipedia-bulletins are just useless, because implementing something like that is just waste of time. The next step is that a spade should be able to stop some grenade fragments etc. Just useless. Helmets are just cosmetic in game and let them stay that way. Too many variables etc. to be taken in consideration.

And anyways, Wikipedia is a poor source in this matter. The helmet could stop some shell fragments, that
