Perks lost from Guest -> Payed

I was given a guest pass for this game, and decided to buy it.

Afterward, my perks were reset. Is there anyway I can get them back?

If they truly are gone, then they are gone forever. I think the Perks would have only stuck around if you purchased the game before the Guest Pass expired. If you did that, then I guess, though I'm totally shocked, that Valve/Steam just removes Stats and Achievements for people who are using Guest Passes(regardless of whether or not they own the game).
