PC Gamer Weekender - Everything that happened

I've picked the most extreme example i could find to illustrate my point.
No in RS1 it becomes apparent when you stand around in the light and on certain maps the effect goes over the top regardless if the settings are low or max.

Even in parts that shouldn't be reflective and be masked in shadow. It's like if all the parts are made of chrome or something. http://media.tripwirecdn.com/020516/m16.webmhttp://media.tripwirecdn.com/020516/m16.webm

When you bring something close to your eyes - you have an ability to look throw this object as it would be semi-transparent.
Take small blade of grass and get it to your eye. Put focus into endless.
Example: http://img1.liveinternet.ru/images/attach/c/11/116/363/116363273_23.jpg

This means when you use ironsight on a rifle you should see something like this:

With that way weapon is less obstructing and don't force you to use hipfire to have better view on target.
Not to mention, that in some armies soldiers are trained to shot with both eyes opened (and you can clearly see target with your second eye).

Making weapon semi transparent on borders makes the game more realistic and more friendly to user.

The M16 is a bad example to pick on. We have completely changed our base shaders for the game, but the M16 was originally textured using the old shader and associated workflow, so it does indeed look a little out of place when compared to the weapons that have been done since. It will receive an update to bring it into line with everything else, but it's lower priority right now than getting various other weapons up to a more complete state. That said, plenty of parts on that weapon were plastic...

Anyway, keep an eye out for some more weapon shots soon.

Need some of that VZ-58 love in the game.

I want to ask does anyone know if VC using RPG and AK-47 is historically accurate?

From what I know, I thought only NVA uses those kind of weapons. VC is mostly use weapons from WWII and booby traps.

It is my understanding that the VC used Mosin Nagant carbines early on in the war, the NVA then received AK rifles, after which the SKS rifles that the NVA used were passed down to the VC. The SKS also had it's advantages for the style of warfare the VC engaged in, try shooting an AK from the prone...

However, after the Tet offensive, numerous NVA regulars flowed into the VC to make up for the losses, also creating an influx of NVA weaponry.

So long story short, did the VC use the AK? Early in the war: Highly unlikely. Later on: Very possibly.

I can't quite find the sources of what I have mentioned, I think it was said in a documentary, if I am incorrect, someone please correct me.

I can't really comment as to the RPG, are you curious about the RPG-7, or RPG-2?
