Ok, little of topic - why the hate towards the US? We don't go around insulting your country.
Personally, if you have a problem with the US do something about it instead of being an internet nerd blamming US for the worlds problems.

On Topic - Glad the F***ers dead. Unfortunately it ain't over yet. I SHALL CELEBRATE WHEN WE WIN!
(With the joyess help of NATO of course. :))

why hate the US? well, its an easy target for one, big, and very populous and loud, making it extremely easy to find an extreme example of whatever you want to hate.

Also, it's very avante-garde to hate the US; if you want to style on the internet, you do so by being as hateful and angry at as many major nations as possible! Your toasters broke because you dropped it? That'd make you look like a fool; no, it was an American conspiracy against the applainces of *insert nation*.

And, on top, you'll find the most angry haters actually live in the US. Yep; people angry with their lives who like to blame everyone else. They usually claim to live in Germany, or sometimes in other European "paradises".

Of course, people do have a point; the US, like any goverment, is inefficient, blundering, and selfish. A non-self serving goverment isn't following what its supposed to do; a good goverment supports its nation as a primary concern. And, with this globalized economy, any massive nation like China or the US will naturally assert influence to try and further its own goals. And this usually means lots of collateral damage and consequences as these countries often are forceful and ignorant of the full situation abroad.

All in all, politics as usual, and human nature as usual. Goverments working without morales? Check, as it always will be (no matter the nation). People being angry and lashing out at whatever they want to be "The Big Bad"? Of course, as always.

I believe the main reason OBL hated the US was because, A) we abandoned the Mujahideen and Afghanistan after the Soviet Union left (he was originally Mujahideen), and B) we infidels kept a rather large military base in Saudi Arabia, his Holiest of Holies. Not what I would consider justification for murdering 3 thousand civilians, but then again, I'm not an extremist.

Oddly enough, he sort of won on point B, as our military pretty much left Saudi Arabia when we invaded Iraq.

The irony is, lots of the people who hate America in the region, if given a chance, would move to America if given the chance.

That's exactly what I did. REZ said something that I felt highlighted the situation, so I built on it in my own way because I feel people DO think too deeply about these things. I'm not sure how it could have been taken otherwise.

Since nobody has claimed to believe in conspiracies here, I assumed you just misunderstood his point.

or...

Spoiler!

Really now, all you Americans do is generalise about other nations.

Also, Felix, it seems you mistook this board with stormfront. ;)

I can generalize America too. We are all morbidly obese, gun loving bacon eaters. We enjoy foot ball, beer and we gain all of our needed vitamins from the green onion flakes on our sour cream and onion potato chips.

I still think people should focus more on the Libyan war rather than this. Sure he deserved to be killed (trialled first I guess, but I suppose he would be executed soon) and the fact remains that the US once again acted as the ruler of the world and did whatever they wanted without asking.

About not everyone having to question all the time, well this is kinda stupid... It's like saying that politicians should be left to do their job and interfere only in the elections. I am not saying that all those conspiracy theories are true, far from that, I too find them overblown and false most of the time, but they are usually built around a concept that is true.

I really didnt expect to hear so much limp acceptance to it ('we've been talking about it for decades' 'America is dominate' 'the US does it everyday so it isnt news or worthy of talking about'

Shall we take to the streets again?

Umm... Yes you do, USA is one of the worst if not the worst country in the world. I'm not hating the people in the country, the US Americans, but the country itself, the organization is completely utterly ****.

What should I do about it? Come with airplanes and do a couple of terrorism attacks on some skyscrapers? Youre basically telling me to do that, thats poor mans warfare, terrorism, but after that you would probably be screaming to nuke my country Finland and cheer after that to the death of 5,6 million finnish F***ers.

I shall celebrate when more US Americans die in terrorism attacks with the joyous help of NATO of course which has caused the whole problem in the first place, funny that.

Basically if you want peace in the world, which unfortunately doesnt seem so, you shouldnt probably be an US propaganda nerd and believe everything thats choked down your throat, you should start thinking with your own brains. If thats too hard, I recommend that you let other people do the thinking.

OK, everyone can have their opinions and overall this thread has mostly had peaceful opinions, even if they differ. Your opinion sir is one that does not fall into that generalization and is one that will more than likely get this thread closed due to a political argument.

I enjoy reading opinions different than mine, don't get me wrong. But when they are nothing but insulting generalizations...

Well, isnt this thread mostly political argumenting? I'm rather suprised that it hasnt already gotten locked.

I didnt want to insult anyone in that post, I didnt mean what I said, I just tried to bring a neutral point of view and emphasize the destructive nature of thinking in that way, us vs. others. And how come the post I was replying to was peaceful? It certainly wasnt.

I just cant watch calmly when people celebrate death and misery, theres already been enough of it.

Ok, I thought everything was mostly a smooth discussion/disagreement. I think we can agree to disagree and just see where else everything leads. :D

Posting stuff like this earns people bans and gets threads locked.. quite rightly too.

Take your hatecrimes elsewhere.

Without taking any "side" here: Where do you draw the line, people celebrating the death of one group, others throw a party cause someone is killed....

I hope the mods on these forums are neutral and dont ban people for "wrong" opinions. I dont see any difference in celebrating death of US Americans than people in the middle east. Everyones lives are equally priced.

As I stated before, I wasnt serious, I just tried to make it clear that celebrating the death of "ragheads" isnt any different than celebrating the death of US Americans.

"I didnt want to insult anyone in that post, I didnt mean what I said, I just tried to bring a neutral point of view and emphasize the destructive nature of thinking in that way, us vs. others."

And as I said I really do hope the mods here keep a neutral point of view and dont ban me or anyone else for bringing another view of these things to the discussion, even though it would be brought poignantly.

If you look at the foreign policies of the USA (and a lot of other western nations) it becomes clear why so many, not very bright people target and point at it.

The problem was and still is that the US government thinks they can wage wars like they did WW2, conquer a country demolish their brain washed brains in 5 years and bam they become a G8 nation.............. only worked in Germany guys. After WW2 the USA always lost or didn't finish it, not surprising really if you look at the last 2000 years of mankind and why most of the time war is not a long term solution.

However, glad Osama is dead, the problem aren't countries, religions, race or cultures. The biggest challenge we as humans face is to not let stupid arseholes ruin it for the rest of us.

Though its hard to do on teh internets, and not necessarily our responsibility, I think we all need to take each message and consider the poster and their maturity before we get our feathers ruffled.

Some of our fellow forum members are young and many are not extremely savvy in the ways of the world. Unfortunately, I'm afraid that majority of young US adolescents are clueless when it comes to current events and world affairs. Also imo, its the general ignorance of worldly matters among the most vocal US citizens that gives us an air of arrogance. We're not all as obtuse as the picture many of our brethren paint of us.

I whole heartedly agree that the celebration of anyone's death is in poor taste. Am I unhappy or sorry that Bin laden is dead? No. Am I estatic? No. I do think its appropriate that he met his fate in the same manner in which he would have (or has) done to his adversary. Death.
