do you guys use older drivers or something im crashing very often becuase of my 6600gt ( i think)
OFP's architecture originallly wasn't designed to allow for modding, the community around the game had a long and hard journey getting even the most simple changes to the game working. Over time however it became easier and support on behalf of Bohemia Interactive grew. A problem that soon became apparent however was that the way OFP was managing addons internally wasn't designed for gigabytes of additional content and the game often crashed with memory errors. In one of the patches, BIS eventually added an alternate algorithm that works much better for addons. Unfortunately it is not used by default, so I don't know, if you are familiar with the -nomap parameter or not. If you are launching FDFmod through the FDFmod.exe file, you will automatically benefit from -nomap, and hence your problem seems to have another source. However, if you happen to start FDFmod through a shortcut to the flashpointresistance.exe or flashpointbeta.exe 1.96 executables, be sure -nomap is added as a parameter to benefit from the new algorithm. Right now, 90% of all crash-related problems (both server and clients) have been eliminated through the use of the -nomap parameter.
If you still suffer from crashes, you might consider checking out different drivers for your graphics adapter, or as another option, you could extract the files context.bin and flashpoint.rpt from your OFP root folder immediately after the game crashed (check if the time/date of the files is identical to when the crash occured) and send them to
support@bistudio.com with a brief explanation. They might be able to help you out, if that problem is known. In any case, I'd suggest to try the first two points I mentioned in beforehand.
Hope this helps.
