As you can probably see from the pictures, the FDFMod team did an awesome job!

I don't think I've ever had OFP crash because of my video card drivers... that said I don't religiously update my drivers whenever new ones come out. I think the ones I'm using now were installed in the summer. I have an ATi Radeon 8500LE 128MB btw.

OFP's architecture originallly wasn't designed to allow for modding, the community around the game had a long and hard journey getting even the most simple changes to the game working. Over time however it became easier and support on behalf of Bohemia Interactive grew. A problem that soon became apparent however was that the way OFP was managing addons internally wasn't designed for gigabytes of additional content and the game often crashed with memory errors. In one of the patches, BIS eventually added an alternate algorithm that works much better for addons. Unfortunately it is not used by default, so I don't know, if you are familiar with the -nomap parameter or not. If you are launching FDFmod through the FDFmod.exe file, you will automatically benefit from -nomap, and hence your problem seems to have another source. However, if you happen to start FDFmod through a shortcut to the flashpointresistance.exe or flashpointbeta.exe 1.96 executables, be sure -nomap is added as a parameter to benefit from the new algorithm. Right now, 90% of all crash-related problems (both server and clients) have been eliminated through the use of the -nomap parameter.

If you still suffer from crashes, you might consider checking out different drivers for your graphics adapter, or as another option, you could extract the files context.bin and flashpoint.rpt from your OFP root folder immediately after the game crashed (check if the time/date of the files is identical to when the crash occured) and send them to support@bistudio.com with a brief explanation. They might be able to help you out, if that problem is known. In any case, I'd suggest to try the first two points I mentioned in beforehand.

Hope this helps. :)

Because graphics make or break a game, right? Even if the game was made almost 5 years ago?

I'd bet that you would play a "Paint drying simulator" if it looked good enough.

Because when someone likes good graphics that automatically means they won't play ugly games.

so whre exactly do i put in the -nomap part? copy and pasting your fdfmod.exe with nomap would be great.

Assuming you have installed FDFmod 1.3 before installing the 1.4 update, you should find the FDFmod.exe file in your OFP root directory.

FDFmod.exe is not required though. You can simply create a shortcut to your normal OFP 1.96 executable and add -nomap and -mod=finmod with a space behind it so it says something like that:

c:\blabla\operationflashpoint\flashpointresistance.exe -nomap -mod=finmod

That should start FDFmod with nomap working.

There's nothing wrong with him saying the game is ugly; it is!

But it's also fun as hell. :D Man it makes me wish I didn't uninstall it.

Atm me and repo are playing OFP with just us and the rest of the squad are bots. our main difficulties are
-killing tanks
-commanding~getting the bots to do useful things and not all die.

Does anyone have advice on commands and on how to kil tanks. obviously satchel charges and mines work great but with an AT weapon we need help. and whats the range of the at weapon (forgot the name but its hte main finnish one).

Id especialy like command advice and tips.

The AI is pretty much useless, except when defending an area against infatry. You will work better if you regard them as "mobile ammo replenish stations" ;)

And concerning AT fight: Don't attack from up front. shoot from somewhere when you can dive out of sight right after the shot, and then relocate. always know where you can get additional ammo (crates or fallen soldiers). Lastly, if you attack alone, you are basically dead meat.

Yea thats good advice. kinda obvious but iwasnt really following it :(. Ive decided to just take 3 or so bots for AT ammunition and healing purposess and do the rest myself except on special occasions.

Also i noticed you can assign groups. Does this mean icould command 3 bots and repo could command some as well?

If you see someone can you say manually man 1oclock blayh blah blah and set him as an available target becuase often i see people and they dont come up in the target list and arent being autotargeted.
