Private Pyle is a developer. So I guess they at least got the shooting right? Seems like we finally found something you're good at.:p

What kind of equipment makes tanks and people show up white and everything else dark? Anyone have a link? I'd like to read how this works.

Can individual members of the Fire Team be ordered to do certain actions or is it "team only" orders.

I'm waiting for the game...

I actually think it's beginning to look decent, but why would you be denied a compass (if it's 3D, not on the HUD) if "hardcore" mode is apparently supposed to be the definition of realistic? Knowing which direction you are heading, or which direction the enemy fire is coming from is pretty important to know.

Secondly, the fact that they have put in a hardcore mode to appeal to fans of the original is just indicative of the fact that things have been dumbed down.

No compass? Reminds me of the lack of spare magazine indicator for COD4's hardcore mode, which is dumb and annoying. I knew this game was going in a different direction from OFP the moment this sequel was announced with the "Dragon Rising" subtitle, those damn subtitles ruin everything I tell ya.

Operation Flashpoint: "Cold War Crisis"
Operation Flashpoint: "Red Hammer"
Operation Flashpoint: "Resistance"
ArmA: "Combat Operations"
ArmA: "Queen's Gambit"

Damn subtitles...;):p

You know although it hasn't looked that good in the past it is starting to appeal to me the more I watch vids and read about it esp. the HC mode.

If and only IF it runs better than ArmA II then this could be a decent fps game, maybe not quite as good as ArmA II but none the less fun if it runs half decent.

ps. Have the released the min and recommended spec for OFP 2?

I know it doesn't run that bad on my rig I just mean all the othere stuff that's f*&ked about it, all the little things in ArmA I & II that are feked is what I really meant. It's when all the little things happen when your playing like AI not doing what you tell them, LOD issues, desync, orange bushes and tree which destroy my fps and crashes it adds up to a pretty bad experience.

Like desync for example I thought that might have been sorted in ArmA II but its exactly the same as arma I which is a pain in the arse. I guess you just gotta put up with these sort of things with games like ArmA I & II.

Well looking at those videos my impression changed a bit. Graphics are ok I guess but far away from ArmA2 and what CMs original target shots. That's probably ok as well as it runs okay and from the previews I've read performance is good already but what really kinda turns me off about the graphics is the overall look of the map.

So far from what I've seen the whole landscape looks pretty much exactly the same, there's no real forests(just trees scattered around the area) and simply not realistic plus there's totally no life. Sure it might be an abandoned island but I could imagine it getting kinda depressing after some time. In ArmA2 you can really feel that there's people living in that country and villages, theres much diversity in wildlife etc. OFP2 from what I've seen so far looks more like an island built for the soldiers and not for the people like in ArmA2.

But I have to say gunplay looks kinda fun, the different voice volumes are cool and the interface looks very good as well, much better than ArmA2s 10year old crap system.

Might be a fun game

comparing hardware, you could say that PCs will run it better, but you can't dismiss the "retarded devs" factor, remember GTA4

Hi all,

Some of you may have seen some specs posted around the internet for the PC version of the game. I've been informed that these are not currently correct and are based on old un-optimised versions of the PC code.

Once the PC code has been fully optimised, we will be releasing the definitive minimum & recommended specs.
