You keep talking about the bugs, but you blow that way out of proportion. Most of the bugs don't interfere with the gameplay anyway. I can tell you've never played ArmA in co-op with friends a lot, because the good times I've had doing that, more than make up for the bugs. If you buy ArmA and don't play with friends online, you're doing it wrong.

I don't think anyone is being a fanboy here.

Apparently you don't mind if a company hijacks a game's name and turns it into something else. Integrity isn't that important to you. Well... I'm afraid that's your problem, it just baffles me why anyone would say that. I could write a huge post about why selling out a franchise is wrong, but I won't do that. Yeah, let's ignore the name... that will work. Maybe Tripwire gets taken over by EA next year, and they'll turn RO:HOS into an arcade shooter with crosshairs and health packs. But we'll just ignore them, we won't mind...

Your arguments are grabbed out of thin air, to say the least.

I am blowing nothing out of proportion, take the "Saboteur" mission for example or whatever it is called in English. There's a bug that makes enemy guards spawn under and not on their guard towers and that is still there in the very latest version. If that happens it makes the mission incredibly harder because it's close to impossible to sneak by them then. And that's just one of the many examples. Sometimes scripts are not executed properly or at all etc... all stuff that makes completing certain missions a matter of pure luck. I can tell you never played though the campaign or else you wouldn't say that.

And also I said:
They had all the time in the world to fix all the issues ArmA had and i'm not necessarily talking about bugs. It's not the bugs that stop the game from being great,
Because the flaws of the game are way more then a few bugs here and there.

Hijack.. blahblah. If BI signed a contract that gives Codemasters the property rights to the name "Operation Flashpoint" than that's their risk and their own fault. Noone stole from anybody.
Your analogy with RO and EA is complete bull****. EA can't just "take over" Tripwire and use the name Red Orchestra and you know it so cut the crap. But that's your tearjerker argumentation: the big and evil publisher vs robinhood interactive. Your arguments are close to non existant.

I dont know, but judging for the videos, at least Flashpoint 2 looks that it gonna be playable. which is probably something that makes it feel more realistic than ArmA or at least, more natural

my idea of realism is closer to TWI's: "If its easy to do it in RL it should be easy to do it in the game" rather than the frustrating chunky movments and keyboard dance

as stated before, realism is not just a list of features.

said this, I agree that the hit feedback is not a good feature, but nobody knows if its gonna be possible to deactivate it... like the aheemm... "crosshairs" in ArmA?

you guys have been just bashing this game for the sake of it ever since (and because) Bohemia was out of the project

...and of course you could be right and end up being a massive piece of **** but that, I'll tell after I tried it myself

Well, that in itself is nothing bad. Its quite possible, if unlikely to get grazed by a bullet, happens a fair amount in RO if nothing else.

Not to mention my pet arma hatred of soldiers running around fine looking like they've had both eyes shot out.

That said the second bit of the vidoe where he gets suprised with his pistol is complete utter BS. Didn't watch past that so don't know or care about the rest of it.

As for "worthy succesor" I suppose it isn't, but really who cares. Its just a name.

"I have taken a hit to the head but it's nothing serious!"

Since when is being shot through the head nothing to be concerned about?
Now there is no way in hell you can convince me that this is supposed to be a sequal to Operation Flashpoint.

Wow this looks like Far Cry 1 with improved graphics and maybe a bit more realism (no aliens).

I'm glad I decided to get Arma 2 and will skip this one.

I was expecting more from OFP2, even though Bohemia has moved on with the Arma series I was hopingi that ofp would at least be decent and lean toward the style that made ofp the name it is.

The recent videos make the game look more like Brothers in arms mixed with Call of duty.
