Those are: Spartanovka, Apartments, Comissars House and Elevator.

All others just crash after ~1 second of gameplay / when choosing class.

Anyone can give a solution? That's annoying.

(Changed language to English - won't help)

I can try and give you couple of hints for you to try:

-Verify integrity of game files and defragment the cache files in steam library under Local files.

-If you have Anti virus go in tools>advance settings>allowed list and add ROGame.ini to it just in case if its constantly scanning for it while you game.

-You can also Delete ROgame config files and start the game after that and you will get fresh new isntall in case your old install was somehow corrupted, here is the path C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common.you will have to do all over again your video settings, input settings, binding keys etc etc etc in the game after this process of deleting the ROGame Folder.

-Install CC Cleaner, run a scan and fix all registry errors, its free and very much helpfull nifty tool.

Thank you for your advice, gentlemen!

Still none of those solutions worked. I figured out that that's not only mine problem: some other users on Russian forums are facing same problems.

Waiting for any other solutions - probably from administration. I pre-purchased the game and I've never seen Red October factory map so far. (Station and Pavlov's house worked - before)

I have the same issues - with 4GB of RAM.

Doesn't matter how much RAM you got. I got 8 gigs worth, but if I had too high graphic settings it would crash regardless. You will need to tune your graphic quality settings and possibly also resolution to something your system can handle.

I presume that the people who have 3 GB or more RAM and are still crashing are running a 32 bit OS. In that case, you are limited to 2 GB of memory for the game no matter how much RAM you have. So, in that case here are a few things to try -

1. Make sure you don't set the game to use 'Ultra' textures. The game shouldn't allow you to set Ultra textures if you are running a 32 bit OS just for this reason. However, if for some reason your INIs didn't get properly updated, or if you are manually setting ultra textures through the INI, make sure you don't go over 'High'

2. Make sure you are not forcing texture resolution or MSAA through the drivers (like Nvidia control panel), as that will use up more memory

3. During gameplay open up your Windows task manager and check how much memory the game is using versus other processes. If you find processes/applications that are eating up a lot of memory that don't necessarily need to run during gameplay, you can close those applications. Browsers are usual suspects.

4. Close the game and then open up ROEngine.ini located in your Documents\My Games\Red Orchestra 2\ROGame\Config folder and search for "bInitializeShadersOnDemand". This should be set to true for people running a 32 bit OS or who have 2GB of memory. If it is not, set it to true, and re-launch the game.

I hope this helps.

Nah, I'm on Windows 7, I just have a crappy gfx card and a mediocre CPU.

If you right click on My Computer in the start menu and then select properties, it will tell you whether you are running a 32 bit or 64 bit version of Windows 7 under 'System type'

It's 64 bit. As I said it's my AMD Athlon II X2 215 Processor and NVIDIA GeForce 8800 GTS 512 gfx card that's the bottleneck in my system.

I'm not - I'm running Win 7 64.

Took the textures down to medium yesterday, for the sake of the exercise. Red October crashed again, right after spawning. I didn't bother trying Barracks, which, by the way, I had managed to get to run fine before the last patch by disabling dynamic shadows. For what it's worth, the video card is a GTX460 with 1GB of memory.

Memory usage was at about 75% when the game crashed.

To elaborate, I haven't had any gfx related crashes since I toned down my settings.

After this thread I realised that when I did that that was actually back in beta days, so just to experiment I tried setting the game to my screens default resolution (1680x1050) without changing the gfx settings, and played several rounds of Spartanovka, Barracks and Grain Elevator, several of them on 64 player servers, and to my surprise I found that not only did it not crash, it actually ran pretty smooth. So it seems whatever has been done to optimise in the several patches since beta, it has actually worked!

Next up is trying it on Pavlovs House, Commissars House and Red October Factory, which is of course the ultimate test. Although I am pleased enough as it is, since I also mainly prefer the first 3 maps I mentioned.

My faith in TWI and RO2 has been restored, no doubt about it.

Hmm.. Looks like we could be dealing with a few different issues here. If you haven't done so already, post your crash dumps to the dumps thread and we'll take a look at them.

Glad to know. It's nice to see our work translate to happy gamers!
