One mutator to confuse them all

Well, I was reading a thread on mutator suggestions, and had an idea of an amazing mutator.

Have it randomly switch things like damage, health, and abilities. A clot that launches you across the room? A scrake that explodes into bloat bile? A crawler that siren-screams? All is possible.

Also, perhaps weapon-random effects. 9mms that set zeds on fire, a m14 that makes you self-destruct, the possibilities for hilarity would never end.

This could either randomize in between waves, or every round.

Also, would it be possible to give clots the patriarchs chest-dick? Or make stalker-FPs? Or make clots have the DJ-Scully skin?

This way, KF might never get old. Just think about the hilarious situations too!:D

I believe there is actually a mutator that swaps the specimen's skin. For example a clot would become a patriarch, patriarch become a siren, gorefast become a FP.

This sounds like a great idea.

I'd prefer something a bit more structured, though, to keep the pacing right - you should still have a "basic mook" like the clot, three "special" mooks that are harder to hit or hit harder in some way, then the ranged/projectile/radius attackers followed by the huge charging guys.

What I'd like to see is some kind of "element" system that can switch the attacks around - a blast like the siren scream that's based on fire, for instance, or a bloat spit that shoots out blades. (or a blast like the siren scream that creates a wall of sharp pointy things...) Sound could ignore armour, acid could burn away armour first, stuff like that.

...and maybe the guns could be generated like this, Borderlands-style...

And, if that is possible, could you even match it with sounds files? Have them say "Let me heal you" or "******!" or "Gormless Tossers"? Because that would be hilarious!

The skin won't fit on the clot because they use a different model and UV, and making the patty as the trader may take a bit of coding and rigging but it can be done.

i personally dont know how to randomize but im sure someone here could

and it can be other specimens other than clots

As difficult/annoying to make as it sounds, I like it.
Crawler with FP health and damage FTW! A player with a Clot skin! It'll be like a controlled Chaos. A true challenge. Bring it forth.

You know, I might actually start trying to make this (Despite having the only programming expreince being a basic pong game.) It sounds just that awesome, and actually possible.

I thought at first when I posted this, Id be flamed down with explanations of impossibility, but instead it has actually been proven possible!

Sounds pretty interesting. Although i think i'd only play this game mode if i was bored out of my mind. I'd much rather play the WTFmod or something where things are actually changed from the original game. Not just a random clusterchuck of skins and models.

It also would be damage, health, and effects, as well as random other things thrown in.

For example, a cloaked scrake, a screaming crawler, clots that explode into bile, specimens that do the 'hit-across-room' effect, as well as skins

Not to mention weapons (although I think Ill make the m14 always self-destruct upon use)
