WW2 guns were designed to take out targets from a couple hundred meters away, this isn't the 1700s, Don't know why people think guns from 60 years ago will fire off 5 feet from a 100 meter target, jeez.

I guess you'd have to try it under real combat conditions for yourself if you can't work it out using reason and common sense.

Please tell me you're trolling or just an idiot.

Neither, from all the things in the game that seem unrealistic to me. Such as sprinting up stairs or the fact that people still shoot absolutely accurately when shot in the arm, sway is not one of them.
People don't have parkinsons, people are able to hold a gun still without too much sway in real life.

Taking a shot at 100 meters in RL is a piece of cake. Does that make me a troll? I don't think so, as I'm not trying to evoke a negative emotional reponse. Does that make me an idiot? Well feel free to prove that I am, but this time use actual proof instead of just throwing out random insults without backing them up.

I guess that soldiers were never trained to do anything right?

Actually it's true, hitting a human target at 50-100m away is indeed pretty easy.
When I was a kid I used to use a bb gun to shoot grapes, and placed them at about 30-40m away from me and could hit them fairly easily.

Also, I don't think the sway is really than unbalanced. They are soldiers, not parkinson diseased. I mean, if it's realism we are aiming for, right now it's pretty "true to RL", and increasing the sway would just make it harder, not more realistic, it would do the oposite actually. Soldiers are soldiers, they aren't wimpy children with no experience. Harder is not always more real.

sway is actually quite fine, after you sprint forever your sway is all over the damn place, sway with heavier guns is even more all over the place... Learn what its like to actually shoot a real gun... God these people are pissing me off. Killing people is the name of the game, if you're able to do it well then you should be having fun right? Or these people crying for more sway are the ones who suck bawls and keep getting killed constantly by people like me? hah

I have a feeling that accurate weapons, little sway, long sprint were designed for bigger maps. But something went wrong with big maps so we have only small ones.

Actually it's true, hitting a human target at 50-100m away is indeed pretty easy.

Shooting with an M1 Garand (which is pretty accurate), prone, to human shaped targets placed at 100 mt, with all the time in this world to aim, most of my unit personel scored between 30 and 35 out of 40.

I repeat, to full sized human targets, standing there - not moving, prone, not under fire and with time to aim.

Now consider all the missing factors (less time, moving target, not prone but standing or crouched, maybe even tired, maybe under fire etc.) and you hit them a lot less.

Soldiers are soldiers, they aren't wimpy children with no experience. Harder is not always more real.
Actually many soviets unit had just a few weeks of training before being thrown into battle.

Can't agree more with OP and some ppl here.

I am really having hard time why some ppl can't understand this simple thing.

Are they writing this from special education center or are they too young to understand any of these?

It just breaks my heart...how some ppl have to live their whole life with that level of perceptive capability..

omg.

Have you been one? Have you fought? I have and I know what I'm talking about. The closer you get the less accurate you become (sounds counter-intuitive, doesn't it), unless you're an idiot or lacking a sense of self-preservation.

Contrary to popular belief, guns do not magically become less accurate after sprinting or whatever. Guns are accurate. It's all about the shooter's ability to keep the weapon steady and use good trigger control that makes the shots accurate.

RO2 does have sway by the way. At least on our server there is. See for yourself.

In reality a heavy gun is easier to hold still than a light one...

Not at all, these people are the ones that want more realism in the game and that realize that giving more normal skill and behaviour to the characters will increase the skill needed to play the game well instead of just being able to use twich skills, aim and press a button you have to be more aware of the world and your position, cover, supporting your weapon, using tactics and so on.

Go to a gun range, use a handgun on a target 20 ft away...let's see how many you silly *** people who think the accuracy is the only thing to consider can hit your targets on a dime at even that range...yep shoot all the center circle from 20ft away. Then maybe some of you will realize it takes some skill and experience to know how to shoot accurately, the gun may be accurate itself but that's not even 100 percent so imagine with your goofy *** trying to hit the smallest point 100m away....ain't gonna happen.

Not to mention you won't even do it close to the time frame that you get your kills from in the game...you'll sit there and stare at it like a retard trying to line up your shot.

Looks like that many of those who think the accuracy/sway is fine haven't been in any kind of military training or used a gun. Yes, you can shoot a gun accurately in a firing range, and IMO the guns work like they should, but the guy behind the gun doesn't. I can say that even the best shooters lose a lot accuracy when they are tired or any way disturbed while aiming.

The sway what it is now while standing and 0 stamina, should only be that little when prone, not tired and not under fire or suppressed.

And no, the soldiers in Stalingrad weren't rock-hard, trained soldiers, but many of them were young men drafted and forced to fight with very little training.

You're talking about handguns
You're talking to a majority of the people that not have been trained.
You're pretending like you should hit the smallest point, when the target is the size of a full grown man.

I'm talking about:
Rifles
Soldiers that have been trained
Hitting a person
