It's all about the one-liners and hidden secrets anyway.
As long as they don't completely go nuts with the gameplay and make it somehow unfun by making the controls gooye (not a word) and as long as you can select a difficulty that suits you that's fine.

Like last time when the picture thread was attacked and no one really knew why. Would it have killed a mod to post: "We took it down because someone posted an image of someone's secondary sex characteristics and that deeply disturbed us" ?

The video is all shaky cam and not a lot can be said about what the game looks like. I thought its graphics were not very impressive, Prey for example looked way prettier. But then who knows what detail settings they ran and how much quality was destroyed by the shaky cam. Is it a proprietary engine btw?
I notice points pop up when he kills people. Will DNF be along the lines of Wolf3D with a high score list?
Basically, if you dare to say something negative about the beta footage of a game, chances are your posts get deleted.
