I must be playing a differnt game. The Grain Elivator I know is heavily inbalanced in favour of the Russians. I've never seen the Axis win on that map.

I've won it about 3 times. It just takes a bit of teamwork, and once SLs get indoors, the russians are screwed.

I gotta admit, it happens a lot.
We got many many players in this game who don't seem to know anything about those things called "objectives".
It gets more and more frustrating each day.

Yeah they are more busy TKing and trying to shoot people in the spawn area. Last night i got TK twice because someone wanted to steal a kill regardless of me being in front of it and shooting. then i repsawned and got spawn killed by a window sniper. then got TK'd again and spawn killed by the same guy.

I forgot too mention.
Grain elevator is great map for countdown, I saw some very solid team work. :IS2:

On the other hand, TT it is a bit rough.

Yeah, exactly.

And don't forget the honor rank. I think that honor is almost only earned by playing objectives/killing ppl on it.

Actually there's no player filter on honor, cause it's the very beginning and everybody got honor < 50, but in few weeks things gonna change.

Kiddies not playing the objectives will not be allowed to come on most serious servers.

I hope.

That is a nice thought, but comes with some consequences, mainly Marksmen will be lower level due to having gained less honor, until eventually they catch up. Or you introduce a gamey element of EVERYONE rushing objectives to rank up honor to play on the big boys servers, Marksman, MG and AT alike advancing hard.

As a rifleman I can kill quite effectively when sniping from my preferred nest on Fallen and gain quite a tally, my effectiveness as a unit at keeping an objective clear is negated by my mediocre gains in honor. Should I continue that type of play, my honour will slowly rank up vs those who run with SMG and take objectives whilst I give them cover, and then they get to move onto honor locked servers, whilst I keep sending more up to them servers due to my choosing to sacrifice personal gains of honor for that of the team. Its a slight disparity that gives me pause for some minor concern. Now if the servers were Honor AND class level locked, that would be a whole different bag of apples, but then you would have a class locked on that server, and if everyone pushes with assault/rifleman, nobody gets to be Marksman/MG/AT unless they go down a server and take objectives with that class.

That is, of course, if people want to munchkin metagame, but dangle that carrot of honor locked servers, and perceived excellence, and you will wind up with some noobs doing extra stupid things so that they can play with the big boys, and then be noob on the big boys servers.

You are correct sir...thats how bad it was on there...Germans used team work...Russians stood at windows even when the opportunity to move up presented itself...

I also agree the Squad leader is important...when I need to repsawn I always for the SL rather than a spawn point...because normally they know what their doing and they are most likely in need of help at an obj....but in this particular map he was on god knows what floor most likely the 4th shooting from a window...4th floor! I'd spawn next to him, curse loudly and have to run all the way down the stairs to launch another one man attack at the obj hopeing to god someone will follow...

@Pika-Cthulhu, I'm a rifleman and there is a time where you need to be at the windows picking them off...but there is also a time when you have no enemy around and what looks like a clear run to attack the obj...then you move forward...you don't just sit there waiting for a counter attack. If you watch the assualt team move into the obj then you should get up and run after them...you will hav enough tim to get the points and you will help speed up the obj taking...as thats another problem...being sat on an obj and waiting for others to join you..and they don't come. What your doing is not helping the overall team by standing or sitting in the same place all the match no matter how many kills you get for the team to win Obj's need taking...I killed 5 and ended up with 173 points as a rifleman..all rally for either shooting the enemy on an obj or other team points.

A sniper though still should move around...a sniper would never take more than two shots from the same place, before mocving on to his next nest. However I also think a sniper should get 4 points a kill to even it out as they will never be atatcking an obj.

Yup. Had a hard time there as well as Axis, map felt really unbalanced, but all it really takes is a few (or even one, if the players in his fire team are good) SLs that know what they are doing and the map works rather well.

Edit:

Also, it feels like so many people still don't know that they can spawn on the SL.

Ahh, the Grain Elevator. This is perhaps the best map of those recently released.

On this map having a SL or two who knows how to play their class is crucial to winning. Heavy smoke and forward spawn points (provided by SL) can make this the difference between a relatively easy first cap and 5 minutes of frustration until the lockout timer expires (great feature by the way, really creates more tension to get those initial capture points).

All the smoke and SL spawn points add up to nothing however, if your team doesn't attack the objective. It is easy to defend when there are only a few attackers consistently trying to get into the objective, but things change quickly when you get get even half your team to do this.

I prefer playing the attackers due to the inherent challenge, and I've found to do this successfully it requires constant movement forward, and often taking big risks in doing so. I don't think I'm alone when I say that my most memorable killing spree's come from charging through smoke or from cover to cover to get right into the middle or behind the enemy.

Case in point, on this map there is a ladder on the left side (from axis perspective) of the grain elevator that leads up to the 3rd and 4th floors where Allied rifleman like to shoot from.

The last time I played I got up here as Axis squad leader (cleaning out the 3-4 allies who were too busy sniping to notice me) and I had a clear view overlooking the rear of the first objective. With grenades (it's good fun to drop the nades and watch them bounce them into the rear entrance of the first objective) and SMG fire I took another 5 or 6 out, all the while providing a spawn point for my team. As a result we were able to keep control of the upper levels until the others on the ground took the largely undefended first objective. Things generally get bad for the allies once they lose this first objective.

I love when Russians stand in the window of the Grain Elevator map. It warms my heart to kill the foolish little lemmings. Please adjust your play style! :D
