I just haven't seen much feedback about b_14. I played it today on a full server and had a good time.



Sure, I'll try it.

No news is good news,there's no feedback coz there's nothing to complain about, apart from the bulletproof bushes just over the hill from the Axis spawn,between the spawn and the Farm, but theirs no reason to fix that its a minor thing.

Yeh, overall this maps just rocks, i always enjoy it!
Unfortunately on my preferred custom servers i did not play it for a long time now, but if there are any problems i will report it of course ;)

Counterattack Contest

Counterattack Contest

Ogledow won third place in the remake category of the Counterattack contest.

Thanks to everyone who helped me, thanks to Tripwire and especially certain of the guys on staff and regular players and server admins who went above and beyond to show me how to make stuff work in the SDK, especially back in the early pioneer days before there were any custom maps and we were all figuring it out as we went along.

Everyone whose name appears beside a post in this thread has my thanks for the help along the way. It has been a blast.

Congratulations to not only the contestants, but to everyone who dug into the editor, who helped test maps, and even those who destroyd my tanks just as I was lining up a perfect shot. :)

Ogledow_B15 (no changes that I remember, just republished so it works in updated game and steam workshop)

playerfiles are on steam workshop, not sure what time that will be available -- prob a couple of hours from now

server files are in first post of this thread

Does this mean that ALL the customs will have to be republished?

Thought so, well i've just about had it with this game, i've just had a 2.6gb client download (3hrs) i'm still waiting on my server being updated,so i can't play atm, and even when the server is updated,none of the custom maps will work apart from Ogledow,which i will have to download again,upload it to the server and also the redirect,and all for what?..the Steam Workshop.
The mapping contest fiasco has also left me disallusioned with TWI., i think maybe its time to chuck it.

ffs hang in there, the only reason I'm doing the beta then final version is for guys like you who helped develop it.

I'm gonna give it 24hrs to see if my mood changes,but the thought of downloading and then uploading ALL those custom maps twice, is just too much of an effort at the moment.....we'll see.

I'm with you. I'm looking forward to one great game on Ogledow and one on Kursk with a full server and a cold beer for the good old days. After that who knows. Rebuilding the files now then I'll publish and upload.

Are you sure you need to republish the map files? Both Ogledow and Kursk will load on the server, i can't play atm. due to other errors,so i can't check them out.

Servers run stripped packages because they do not actually need the content.

The problem is that when UE 3 cooks (even the same package) it puts things together differently. We try and minimize that, but when we do big changes (such as adding workshop) we haven't yet found a good solution.

What this results in is sometimes old maps will look for content and not be able to find it because it is someplace else in the package it is looking for it in. The map needs to be recooked on the new version so it is pointing at the new location of that content.

Would keeping the older versions of the custom maps on the server cause the problem i am having connecting to my server? look here:http://forums.tripwireinteractive.com/showthread.php?t=84966

edit: Ive just tried connecting to two other server running custom maps,and i still get the package errors.
I'm going to try removing all custom maps/files from my server.

i dont know how to give the player files, but i was just in RGN server and theyre running it,
I got the player files from the Steam workshop,but by the time i joined the server the map was nearly finished.
The very effort of disconnecting from a server running a custom map,going into the Steam workshop,then finding and downloading the files from Steam takes longer than getting the files from a redirect, most players will just go to another server.
Can you make the player files available in the first post so that i can upload them to the redirect.
