Exactly. Combined Arms means something specific.

... if you think it would be better to give the infantry an edge over the tanks then so be it, i have a solution in mind to combat that.............lol

It's just that kind of devious thinking that made RO so much fun for so many years. Can't wait to see your solution in action.

Tripwires!

I see what you done there Mike....exactly.
Now that's a mutator project, if anybody wants to take it on. 2 nades,one placed either side of the doorway/window connected by a tripwire, somebody runs through the door pulls the wire and..........BOOM!

They look good,but it will be a while before we see that game,and i don't think they use tripwires, i think they have to be buried and stood upon to work,not exactly ideal for putting across doorways to defend your back, but would be very useful in other places, give us them now TWI.

Those grenades were used but there were many more Japan booby traps (including tripwires). HERE

Actually, in WW2, tripwires were used extensively by Allied forces.... both indoors and outdoors. In the Pacific and 'Nam too. They would be an excellent addition to the game and I might add, not very difficult to implement. All it takes is knowledge and desire.

Tripwires were first intro'ed into FPS gaming by the AWE 2.1 Mod by Bell.

Just had a play on the map. Enjoyed the view of the countryside and travelling on the dirt roads.

The map will make a great multiplayer. Currently the Bots respond fairly well to commends and not getting stuck to the scenery.

The small villages provide great choke points where the tanks often end up clashing.
Ammo/repair spots seem to be positioned well ( I never got to get a AP shell reload due to being a KIA and then respawn.

One question is it possible to get a silver / Gold Tank gunnery achievement on the map? As more players after this achievement would then flock to the map as well as enjoy the tactical challenge.

Lastly, thank you for all the hard work put into the map, I will be playing this map more often.

Silver tank Gunnery is a Tank Kill from 1200 metres, Gold is 1500 metres. Not really sure if its possibru to do on this map, I don't think there's enough range for it. It only seems about 500 x 500 metres at the very most.

The map isn't big enough for those. If you want long range tanking get Kursk -- I've made kills at 2500 m there. The map is about 5000 meters each way.

That's me buggered then, my eyesights poor, i can't see more than about 1000m, let alone hit anything. (i want my IS2 back):IS2:
or is it because i don't use the gunsight and do everything by eye? Ill need to try using that sight adjustment some day.

Line your sight up on the enemy tank, fire. If the shell falls short, click up twice or three times, re-center your sight on the enemy and fire again. Repeat and adjust until you hit him.

Hey Six Ten, in the Kurland thread DrGuppy said that changing the "Max Spawn on Squad Leader Distance" setting in the world properties to 0 might disable the SL spawn funcionality in your map. Would you give it a try to see if it really works?

He's been oddly quiet lately in this thread.

I just haven't seen much feedback about b_14. I played it today on a full server and had a good time.
