The next patch (as John said at the event) is planned to have 2 perks (and their weapons) and 2 maps. This comes along with feature additions, refinements and bug fixes.

Oh. Well, sometimes it's nice to be wrong then.

Though gotta say, didn't expect for the Demoman to be the next perk released. I expected firebug, but not Demoman.

Well, not complaining about the teeth on a gifted horse.

Why can't it be both (it is both)?

I know, just saying that I didn't expect Demoman to be released this soon. I expected Sharpshooter or Martial Artist, one because it adresses specifically the lack of ways to deal with the big mothertruckers other than being a professional Russian, and the other because there's already one weapon from the perk in-game. Demoman deals with the big ones, yes. The Big ones and everything in the entire godamn block.

Also, kinda sad you didn't release Sharpshooter instead, would have been kinda charming to have all six original perks together again.

I just hope demo's nades blow each other up a la KF1. Throwing a couple nades into a crowd then detonating them with a launcher for one BIG boom that kills a mob of 15 zeds. That's the spirit of WHAT MAKES ME A GOOD DEMOMAN!?!?!?

Great, now I'm imagining how a sticky launcher would work in KF2... (Speaking of which , a mine-launcher could be nice... if it has a low ammo count and that its power is quite low ,even lower than a basic grenade . It would make traps more effective ...You could even cover the walls and ceilings! I'm not against the return of the pipe bombs though) .

And yeah , I was expecting the sharpshooter next, seeing his usefulness in the first game , but the firebug and demolitions are fine too (and both of them at the same time? I won't complain! )

And to the person asking me quite a few post ago why I was sad about the return of the husk cannon well... I felt it was too expensive even for a high-level firebug and it was too tricky to use properly. A charged shot would take a long time to get at max level and would only anger a FP and the uncharged shots were really weak... I know it was the "big weapon" of the firebug, but I felt the trenchgun+dual flare guns (sad they aren't coming back...) + incendiary grenades truly did well . The job of a firebug isn't to take down the bigger zeds anyway ,so I let the team take care of them and I take down ALL the trash (as well as the sirens, husks and bloats of course )

It's funny to me that people are equating demo perk to 'heavy killing'. Sure they were great in kf1, when fps were the biggest threat short of bosses, and demo specialized in killing both. But now it's "one raged scrake" that wipes teams.... Demo's biggest weakness, what with scrakes' explosives resistance and 90% hp rage.

Demo is gonna have to be very very powerful if it's gonna make up for that

My gut is telling me to stay far far away from Demos an Firebugs because they're going to rage Scrakes left, right, and center.

On the other hand, I do feel kind of nostalgic for KF1's C4. Those ominous beeps. Fleshpound instant gibs. Oh and those little accidents when a sneaky Clot detonates you and your clever trap :)

Having some type of sticky / remote detonation launcher would be an interesting addition and offer alternative strategies.

Proximity detonation pipe bombs are nice but remotely triggered explosives would be nice as well.

Also for the firebug ,I'm kinda sad that we get the husk cannon back... It was the weapon I liked the least in the first game. It was bloody expensive and tricky to use. I preferred the trenchgun+dual flare revolvers combo.

For the old husk gun i could agree, the other combo was more worth it.

If you get all the features of the current husk gun (Gasoline jelly ball of fire + friendship destroying fire stream)? I am perfectly ok with that. That would make it one of THE BEST tier 4 weapon just because of the insane adaptability of it. Not to mention it would be one of the coolest looking weapons by far if it turns out to be confirmed.

Heh...Maybe a bit too goofy for KF2? Also I wouldn't be against a protection against explosives for the demolitions, but certainly not 100%... I think some kind of high-risk/high-reward system is a must for this perk.

As for the husk cannon ,it's true that the Husk is now way more scarier than in the first game. If the weapon ends up being similar,it could be a pretty nice weapon! Only time will tell ,but I really hope to spice up (pun not intended) my game!

I made a husk cannon/firebug thread in ideas/suggestions if you guys want to continue the discussion there. I hope the cannon returns with the Flamethrower ability. As for demo, I'm glad they went with the RPG-7 over the L.A.W, it may not be more original but it's certainly more stylish and should still pack a good punch. I'm thinking it will be the Fleshpound's nightmare. Not only is FP weak to explosions, rpg's are designed to penetrate heavy tank armor. I don't think the Fleshpound is quite as armored as a tank, despite being more **** - your - pants inducing.

I think thats the idea, hopefully taping a flamethrower on the husk gun to mimic the AI husks will turn out better than the dremel + nerf gun combo that is the eviscerator.

And i like the look of "New" Demo, being a demo main in KF1 after we got it, i'd take a lighter weapon like the RPG over the LAW any day, especially if it's a directional (Shotgun-esque) HE Blast we can use to literally blow the heads off a whole group of ZED's....Or one big ugly one.

Can't wait to see what all the weapons each perk is going to have. Going to miss watching my damage counter rack up though.

I mean... if an RPG-7 can kill a tank it should be able to kill a scrake. Right?
