Add the following to the end of your target line of your steam start up shortcut:
-beta red2beta

It will update the retail RO 2 build, not the beta.

Anyone got this to work.. I added it to the properties of the shortcut , applied it and it just starts steam up as normal and then starts the game as normal.

I think he wants you to modify the steam-steam shortcut, not RO2-steam shortcut.

When I try to get into the server it takes forever but that could be on my end also.

Close steam, remove "-beta red2beta" and start it again. Run "verify integrity of cache".

I removed the line from the shortcut now its downloading something else.

That means it is rolling back to the current live build. Remember you will need to delete your config files or your might not see servers.

Sound bug still present:

Takes longer to go, but the channels still die gradually for me over the course of 3 or 4 rounds.
