Intrigued the first time I heard of KF and told my friends "we gotta try this!"

Grabbed a 4-pack on sale and loaded up the first map....which at the time was kf-bedlam (WORST map to introduce to a noobie). Tutorials weren't around yet either so we had no flippin' clue what to do.

Got wrecked in Wave 1 and said "This game sucks!" and left it alone for a month.

Came back a month later on a different map and then exclaimed "Wow, this is fun as hell!"

P.S. We all laughed when the tutorial hints were introduced later on saying "This would've helped the first time!"

Don't remember my first game very well. I just remember it was on Westlondon normal difficulty. I do remember falling in love with Commando and Sharpshooter almost immediately though.

Then I remember going through that phase where I thought Zerker was the best thing since sliced bread and kiting was the only way to beat higher difficulties. (Almost painful to think about that now )

I can also remember my very first game on HoE. It was a Westlondon game and we were camping in the police station. One of the guys who had a mic pretty much designated himself team leader. His strategy for killing Scrakes involved myself and two other Supports trying to simultaneously double barrel them all at the same time. Yeah we never really made it past wave 8.

Manor, solo, got wrecked on wave 1. Was like "WHERE ARE MAH CROSSHAIRS WHAT IS THIS ADS BULL****?!?!" standing still impotently firing body shots at incoming clots, only to be surrounded. Ragequit after that.

Then I picked it up again a few months later. Fell madly in love with it. :)

I did what karsey did. Played it a first time, got devastated on anything above beginner. Left game for several months then came back after getting bored of MW3. Practiced and grinded the first perk levels on beginner then graduated to normal. Moved up to 1337 status when I got to hard and beyond.

Installed some UT2004 Mod, "Killing Floor", as my brother played it. Joined a game of biotics lab. Didn't really get it, got my *** handed to me. Realized that I'd need to wait for the rest of the team to kill 100+ zeds for me to get back to the game. Said screw it, and went back to CS:S.

Then, on tripwire bundle bought it because what the hell (had already RO1 and RO2, and enjoyed both). Seems like a nice game so far.

Playing KF as a noob is my ultimate videogame moment.

Nothing can beat this game when youre new and learning how to play it. Its was the journey from there to actually knowing how to play on HoE that kept me playing for 800+ hrs.

Of course, like every noob who just bought the game and has no idea how the perk system works, everytime I kept buying off perk weapons. I remember buying an off perk flamethrower and managed to kill myself with it because due to close combat, the flamethrower will inflict self damage to the player.

I also remember buying an offperk chainsaw and that didn't end to well for me either.

Shooting everything with an 9mm, including scrakes and fleshpounds.

I don't remember anything, so I must have always been the pro I now...

Wait, it's coming back to me.. There's definitely raging FPs with m9 and always being sharp because I couldn't switch perk mid-wave and didn't want to use off-perk weapons :D

I agree with this very much.

Not a Necropost!

Ahhh yes :D Good "KF-first-time-playing"!
I got into that game by having the opportunity in Summer 2013 to play KF for free for 7 days. After I launched KF I first realized "Hey, this is running JUST LIKE UNREAL TOURNAMENT 2004!" and it's running a similar engine. When I got to play this on Solo I was always Cpl. Lewis :)

1. Match - Normal - Short - Manor - Commando lvl 0
(Oh hey, there is no crosshair! Is there a way to bring it up or is this a bug/intented to be?)
(That's cool! My 9mm has a flashlight attached! And there is even an aim-down-the-sight feature! AWESOME!)
(Now what does the syringe & the welder exactly do?)
I found a shotgun on that pile of woodbuilding just outside the cave. I got killed by Wave 2 because I tought "OMG AMMO IS SCARCE!!!" trying to save up as much ammo as possible x_X

(Wow! Invisible murderous women do exist?! In KF - Yes!)

2. Match - Normal - Short - Waterworks - Sharpshooter lvl 0
(Hint: You can also run faster by carrying a melee weapon such as a knife.)

I found a Bullpup while clearing wave 1. and used it sometimes. I noticed, the ammo counter is somehow different: 40/3 ???. And I liked the firesound of the 9mm :D Got killed by Wave 2 - again

(Hey, the music is so good! I like to listen to this!)

3. Match - Normal - Short - Aperture - Sharpshooter lvl 0
YES! My first level up on the first wave with the 9mm (This is when I found out, that leveling up with perk weapons is possible)! Later I tried the LAR on second wave and liked it! But then on Wave 3 when I got the XBOW and saw, that a BUNCH OF ZEDS are dying by it's single bolts so I felt immortal! My first time getting to Wave 3 and I heard some nasty screaming! That creeped me out fairly ! So I kept running and firing my XBOW at the horde.

Some freaky monkey with a chainsaw was coming and starring at me like a maniac! Pffft! Headshottet him lol!

Yes! Wave 4! I resupplied my XBOW and got Dual MK.23. The wave started and I kept firing on that Circus-Freaky (Somebody smells delicous!) bunch. I heard something real angry screaming. It was a big bad and mad lighted-up mutant coming out from the unrecognizeable bunch of circus freaks! I kept firing on it 2 times in its body and it's still after me! DAMN - It wont go down! (IM SCREWED!) last hope-shot went to his head and he was down! That creeped me out even more than the siren's scream!

After clearing 4 waves I realized, that a big bad guy would come after me!? What if he's real bada$$? (Abandon_All music! Real, serious and dangerous beats!) I kept looking in all directions fast and found him firing a machine gun at me! I managed to bring him down once and he went away to heal.

Unfortunately I do not remember how it ended up! I remember I was once killed by the Patriarch but the other time I killed him.

5+. Matches - Normal - Short/Medium/Long - Crash/Office/Westlondon - Sharpshooter lvl 1 or 2
Unknown story! Sorry!

Only after these times I realized, that leveling up Sharpshooter requires not killing zeds BUT LANDING HEADSHOTS WITH SHARP-WEAPONS!

And what's with all these locked DLC's?! That's so annoying and cheap!
Also 1 minute
was not enough to check at the trader the weapons stats (Power, Speed, Range, Weight).

Here's my experience of my first time KF & noob memo's :) I liked that game and picked it up right away on 80% OFF! Too-good-to-be-true deal! But I have totaly forgot about the DLC's. I picked it up much later on another 75% off (KF Bundle).

I never realized, that some content is only available during the summer event and found that later out the hard-way :( BUT - TI was so kind to let this content to be unlocked on "St. Patrick..."-something day (I do not know this kind of celebration) so I got into it as soon as I found that out. :)

Then I got familiar with these maps initialy: Manor, Aperture, Steamland, Bioticlabs, Crash, Offices, Westlondon.

My first Map achievement on KF-Farm on Normal achieved on 18. July 2013 on some whitelisted server :D from my newbie-times I was playing almost Sharpshooter only. Sharpshooter was my first perk to level up to 6.
Second perk to lvl 6 - Supporter
3. - Medic
Last - Commando (Farmed stalkers on testmaps)

Now I feel like an old veteran, that has nothing more to do in KF. To be continued ... KF2!

Thanks for reading everyone :) Hope you enjoyed my story!

I remember playing the killing floor 2.5 mod first, that was fun, it got me good before I transitioned to retail kf, of which I had tons of fun in. I think the coolest part was comparing the mod's graphics to KF's graphics, that was so cool seeing all the dark details, textures, and specimens model improvements. I also remember the retail game running a lot smoother than the mod did.

I had never played the mod. I imagine that would've been awesome after having played the mod.

While I may have spent the biggest part of my time doing solo, I still can remember my first few times on 6 man Normal as a lvl 2 support. "Meh, FP's are easy with AA12!" A few seconds and one empty mag later a poor support specialist was turned into nice and tender mince meat.
Oh well, at least something was learned from that experience, and it was not the only lesson back then.

**** my favorite noob memories were playing servers with 100+ players. That **** was epic. KF-Prison and i think Hershey was it? Just spending hours killing hundreds and hundreds of zombies - **** was intense.
