Personally I was thinking maybe remove the text messages which pop up when you shout messages via the "V" command. I prefer this feature to be purely based on sound, thus you have to really listen to what is being said, plus hopefully the sound will echo & reverb throughout the level to give you greater immersion and possibly be easier to locate where that soldier is shouting "We need help at .....". Similarily Id love to hear the enemy player shouting "We need help" then locating where he was shouting from and take him out as he cowered in a corner waiting for his comrades.

Darkest Hour was cool, the way you had to be near the shouting player to hear them, I hope tripwire will go this route. The text should be optional.

I dont know about the rest of you, but i don't understand German or Russian.

Exactly. The only other option would be for tripwire to make voices for a whole ****ton of different languages and then have the sound play in your native language, and that would just suck. I love the Russian and German voices.

Depends a bit on the command I think. Some commands should be more global to ensure teamwork, and some should be local.

Attack capzone X from the squadleader should be to the entire squad.

Watch out grenade! should be local

That would definitely be a cool feature if it was optional in the server config.

I've played with quite a few people who are in fact hearing impaired so on some level I think you have to provide some on screen visual information.

german, russian and a small variety of voices, including english, possibley with realistic german/russian accent. Text would be optional, in a *ton of languages and only displayed when the shouter is in a certain range, with the transparency or color of the text indicating his distance.

what would be cool is if voice would be limited locally, like in rnl.

I enjoyed how it was in the mod, where it was local, and the text would pop up if you were near enough to hear it. Also, please bring back whispering!
