People trying to update their VIA audiodrivers should check the supportpage for their motherboards. Generic VIA drivers might not work properly.

If you have VIA sounddrivers, make sure you have "enhancements" turned off (somewhere in your desktop soundsettings).

Also, if you have USB headphones, try another soundsource (speakers/headphones).

I haven't had this issue since the first day so, maybe a fluke?

Edit: Happened again, swapping from Fallen Hero to the Apartment map. It seems like it happens most swapping into the Apartment map when it does happen.

Yeah I have Realtek HD though. Although my sound is coming from my motherboard, which is an MSI P7N Platinum. I don't have a dedicated sound card.

I have an onboard Realtek HD sound card. (Driver: Realtek High Definition Audio Vista 64bit Version R2.65)
When I start the game I'm only have sound in the Tripwire logo and the other manufacturer logos. If the menu is there is nothing more to hear.
No background music, no ingame sound, nothing!

Because nobody can lie on what could it mean?
I've been trying for days to solve the problem.

Yeah, that didn't work for me either. I've tried both stereo and 5.1, nothing helps.

What worked for me on Win 7.....

It was a issue with AMD sound driver for gfx card, i assume NV are the same.

Right click my computer.. properties.. then open device manager

Go to 'sound, video and game controllers'

open and remove HD driver by amd/nv do not remove your sound card.

worked for me, give it a try:)

Just to let you guys know it works for me now. I didn't actually do anything, it just started working (unless I did something and wasn't aware of it). SO yeah, good luck :\

I had this exact same problem and running the UE3Redist.exe is what enabled sound for me.
