[How Do I?] No servers showing up in the browser (final game)

This is a copy/paste of my previous thread. However that was about the beta version. I am still having this issue in the current retail/finished version of the game.

I am only making this thread because the sticky above does allow me to reply:

First I tried Solution 1. I can not seem to figure out how to download the latest Steam Beta. I am following this thread:

I am looking under the Steam/Account tab and I can not see any Change... option. Just a "Change Password" or "Change Contact Email". I don't see how I am supposed to enable/download the beta builds?

I then tried Option 2 under Solution 1. I shut down steam, downloaded the files, set them to Read Only, and restarted Steam. This did not fix anything.

Finally I tried Solution 2. I have no filters selected but I am still not seeing any servers in the browser. I checked them all. Then opened up the filter area again and clicked apply, then unchecked them and clicked apply again. I clicked Refresh and Quick Refresh. Still no servers.

Considering everything in the thread above failed, what options am I left with?

Looks like we are out of luck. :(

Now there is officially no way for me to join games. To make matters worse, there is no offline mode. I would at least enjoy playing against bots without ruining the campaign experience (due to the current bugs). This essentially leaves me with 10GB or wasted HDD space.

Is there any way to directly connect to an American realism server?

PS: Don't go into the RO2 Steam group looking for advice/a fix, because you'll get banned, rendering the game entirely unplayable.

Can you guys post your antivir, firewall, and router information. RO2 probably doesn't like some form of security, so it would be best to try and find out what.

For now try joining a game through steamfriends, most of you probably have someone playing the game just join through that for now.

Otherwise if you have an Ip at the ready open the console (~ or

Firewall is set to allow RO2 and both Punkbuster programs (or whatever).

Antivirus = Microsoft Security Essentials. Not willing to disable anti virus for a single game.

Router = Belkin N750DB.

Punkbuster allowed to run when I first went into the server browser.

I have no friends who own RO2 anymore (they few that did refunded...). I can not find anyone to right click, join server anymore. Even when I did, the result was a laggy standard server. 300 ping is not my idea of fun.

can you try (even though it might not do anything) to remove RO2 from the firewall exceptions list and add it again. Sometimes patches make a firewall think its a different program.

Try temporarily running your router in DMZ mode, and see if you can obtain the serverbrowser then. (it is not adviced to keep running in dmz mode as the demilitarized zone means that all router protection is turned off).

I have tried all of the suggestions listed so far and have been unable to see any servers. Here is the security log from my router, a Belkin F5D8235-4.


System log:
Send Discover Packet => Sat Jan 1 00:00:12 2000

Get DHCP OFFER Packet => Sat Jan 1 00:00:12 2000

Send Request Packet => Sat Jan 1 00:00:12 2000

Get DHCP ACK Packet => Sat Jan 1 00:00:12 2000

Get IP Address 68.227.254.211 From DHCP Server => Sat Jan 1 00:00:13 2000

User Login From 192.168.2.15 => Tue Sep 13 18:30:23 2011

User Login From 192.168.2.7 => Tue Sep 13 21:09:52 2011

I do see the server browser working normally when I first use it after opening the game. I'm able to pick a server and play on it. But when I leave that server and try to find another, I get the 0 servers as mentioned above. I remember this bug in the most recent beta version, but i figured they fixed it by now.

same here and i have download the masterserver files, but after playing on a server and return to the serverbrowser, all the servers are gone and the browser finds 0 servers
