no profile and cant connect to any server

hello all,

i have 3 problems with my killing floor...

i hope to find help here...

steam support say, that i have to ask 4 my problems here...

i am sry 4 my bad english, i am german and try my best to descripe my problems... maybe it is possible to write back in german?

1. i cant view my profile, so my name in game ( i can only play solo ) is "fresh meat" and all my perks are on lvl 0... i think the in game nick must be the steam account nick but it isnt... i play this game many times before and 4 example the demolition perk was on lvl 6... and other perks on 2,3 and other lvls...

2. i cant connect to any server... if i try to connect there is an error massage that says " there is an unknown error by connect to the server, conntact steam support"... steam say i have to check my ports, and i do it with an steam port checking programm but there are no problems with the ports...

and the last problem is

3. i only can start the game if i rightclick on the killingfloor.exe in the system folder and start it as an admin...

why all these happens? all my other steam games works fine without any problem... i have try many things to fix the problems, like delete all files and download it again, give the game a higher priority ... ... ... nothing help to fix it...

i need fast help pls... i wanna play my game... it is realy frustrating that i cant play kf... my clan have 3 kf server where i pay 4 every month, but i cant play...

i thanks 4 your help, and hope 4 fast... and sry if there is an articel that would solve my problems, but i dont find it...

no, there comes no error...
i can start the game and get the first screen where i can choose what to do...

solo, multiplayer, options, pofile...

i can play solo missions, but my name is "fresh meat" and i dont get any points to lvl my perks...
and what itell bevor, i have no acces to my profile and cant connect to any multiplayer server...
and what is it that i only can start the game if i run it as an admin?

hi,

also, wenn ich das spiel versuche zu starten ausser ueber rechtsklick und als administrator ausfuehren, kriege ich nur das erste bild, wo die beiden spielerskins und der kettensaegen mutant zu sehen ist, also das bild was man noch in windows sieht... darueber hinaus passiert nix... hab das spiel schon ne stunde laden lassen, aber es bleibt bei diesem einen bild... keine fehler meldung oder sonstwas kommt...

i cant run the game from steam... the very first loadscreen is shown but thats all... the pic where the 2 playerskins and the chainsaw mutant are...
thats all... i run steam and than run the game from the killingfloor.exe in the system folder of the game... thats the only way to start the game...

why no admin programmer answer here? i hope 4 help...

i have 2 steam acc`s, and 2 times killing floor... but on both it dont work...

a friend try to run killing floor with my 2. acc, and he have no problem with it... he can join the profile and connect to servers...

my system is win 7 64 bit, 4 gb ram, a 7850 AMD BE and a xfx 4890 ATI...

why i cant run the game from steam or the link to it, why i cant view my profile and cant connect to any server... i hope a programmer/admin can tell me how to solve the problem...

Try either disabling UAC (not advised if you do not have any anti-virus software) or launch Steam as administrator.

As already said, you must launch the game through Steam in order to use perks and achievements.

Relax, buddy. Killing Floor has been out for so long that the members are usually better at answering questions than we are. I have never run into or heard of any problems like this that couldn't be solved by running Steam as administrator and/or marking the Killing Floor executable to be run as administrator.

That being said, it looks like you haven't marked KillingFloor.exe to run as administrator since you keep saying you have to right click on it and select "Run As Administrator" for it to work. Try doing this on KillingFloor.exe:

Then, run Steam as administrator, as you've been doing, and launch Killing Floor through Steam.
