My friend installed RO 2 yesterday, and he hasn't been able to get to the splash screen. He sees "Red Orchestra 2 is starting..." and then he gets nothing.

He tried everything from reinstalling the UE3 redist to Punkbuster and nothing works.

However, what seemed weird was that he has nothing in My Documents/My Games/Red Orchestra 2. The folder for the game just doesn't exist, as if the game failed to generate those folders the multiple times he reinstalled the games.

Should there be a documents folder there? I don't know if that's why his game isn't starting, but I think it's worth looking at.

Thank you.

EDIT: Because of this, no .DMP or log files are created. Please do not ask for crash files, because they aren't being created.

computer>local disc (c)>program files> (x86)>steam>steam apps>common

is there a red orchestra 2 folder there? it should be 8.26 gig in size.

If you had read my post you would realize that this directory does not exist in my friends computer.

r5cya gave you a different path.
It should look something like this:

C:\Program Files\Steam\steamapps\common\red orchestra 2
This is for Xp Pro and I believe there is an (x86) also when using Win 7

Check r5cya's post!

Yes, he has the RO 2 installation (inside his Steam folder.) What isn't happening (and what I suspect is making it so that he can't run the game) is that the folder that SHOULD be in My Documents/My Games simply isn't there and is not generated in the multiple times he's tried to install the game. What can he do?

EDIT: My friend fixed his problem by fiddling with his Antivirus. Mods please lock this thread.

Ah thanks, I have this problem. What exactly did he do to his anti-virus, was it AVG or built in windows one?
