New weapon ideas

Ok guys first off this game is amazing. Personally i like it better than l4d(opinion). However i think the game could be better. I see that the game is trying to make each weapon unique and I respect that. But i figure there can be some weapons they can add heres a list.

Smg: Its a small mg that does NOT have a scope(unlike the bull) but has more ammo, lets you move faster, and dualwieldable. It might look like a small mp5 or somethin.

Revolver: I guess this would be simmilar to the handcannon only this could be a little weaker but cost less. 6 shot

Sniper: sorry i cant remember if they already have this. I know they have a scoped xbow. If they dont well its pretty obvious what a sniper is.

KATANA: pretty straightforward an amazing melle weapon good against week to medium enemys not so much to the higher end enemies.

Minigun:this would definitly be classified as a heavy weapon and unique. Its essentialy a big @$$ machinegun that takes time to spin the barrels. But once it gets goin there is no stoppin it.

Bolt action rifle: an extremely accurate rifle with an iron site and like a 15 round clip. its not semi though. Once fired your character puls lever back before firing again.

Thats it for my weapon ideas . I had a few other ideas like an m4 but i thought it was to closs to the bull. Heres some enemy ideas

KF has some pretty cool enemies but therex only 9!!! they could add a few and heres some ideas

Splitter: An enemy resembling the clots only more bolgy. If you dont kill them quickly then the sepperate into 2 seperat creatures. Not very strong but can get pretty poppulated if you let these things rome to long

Doomspike: although i could come up with a better name its an enemy a little bigger than a clot with a bunch of giant needles stuck in its body. Its not very fast but if it grabs you it can pull you in and impale you.

Screamers: A clot sized enemy that is killed easily but it is extremely fast and powerful. You can tell its coming from a distinctive scream.

I could easily go on all day with more ideas but im going to stop here. Im looking forward to feedback. I also want to hear you ideas if you have any. When you're making a game which doesn't necessarily replicate the entire small arms arsenal of a police or military force, you'd generally want to keep the purpose of each weapon clear and defined.

The carbine already fills the role of a compact and versatile automatic weapon, thus negating the potential role of a submachine gun. The pistol you described would essentially be a midpoint between the default firearm and the upgrade, and the two rifles you suggested would be redundant considering the existence of the lever-action and the crossbow. Inserting a sword (essentially a big knife, a role which the machete fills) into the game would be a little out of place given the game's setting in modern Britain.

Any references to "basically" refers to the roles each would play or the effects they have.

The smg would outclass many of the weapons. It would be like dualwielding bullpups with more ammo (oh no, yo can't scope!?!?!?!?!?).

Handcannon is already underpowered and has little ammo. No need for a less powerful gun with less ammo.

Xbow now basically a sniper.

Machete basically a katana (based on use, not style).

Minigun would be broken.

Winchester is a rifle with iron sights. Though smaller clip and level action (like it makes a difference).

A "splitter" on the wrong side of a map would ruin the game REALLY fast. Broken.

The "doomspike" is basically a crawler.

The "screamer" is basically a gorefast.

Although all good ideas i think, as explained above, they are flawed. I like the idea of having something like L4ds Hunter.

The hunter can strike from anywhere, Thats why it was so god damn dangerous. All the specimens are there to kill on the floor.

If you had something that could attack from above or from the side etc that could jump from building to building, then you have a whole new element to the game. And having the scream audio would definately add to the atmosphere.

Id like some more melee options. So you can really go hammer and tong with them. Even fists would be awesome. Actually smacking them around upside the head would bring me much satisfaction!

Shining your flashlight in their eyes should slow them down and they should be programmed to put their hands up to block the light. Would be good.

Ya i guess the katana weould be a little to unique. It wouldnt really fit the game. And my idea of a screamer is not a gorefast. Its a really fast but easy to kill unit . I think the smgs would fit well. Although the crossbow is good I would like to see a sniper. You guys are also probably right about the lever action. The bolt action was just an idea. Also the smgs would be weaker than bullpups with more ammo So if you dualwielded them it would be slightly more powerful than a bullpup with more ammo but once again no scope. I also think you could make the revolver i mentioned more powerful than the handcannon. It would be more powerful but it only has 6 shots . sorry i mesed up a lttle.

I agree that is would be more scary with a hunter-like spec but consider that KF is more tactical that L4D. If you have to consider that you could be attacked by something that you can't usually see before you get attacked. The stalker fits that role, but is possible to spot and is always in the plane of fighting (KF is very 2D).

I'd like more variety as well, but what purpose would they serve? Any small weapon (or fists) would be useless or on par with the knife. Anything stronger than the chainsaw would be broken.

If someone shined a light in your eyes on a sunny day, would it bother you? Perhaps in the dark. I don't know how they would code that, but it might work. I'm more interested to see the flashlight updated to be more useful.
