I created my own free forum about UnrealEd now.
liandri.darkbb.com

The heart of the forum is the Sharing and Caring section where you can post content you created so other mappers can use it as well. For example if you have a good birch-tree there is no real need for others to create the same asset all over again if they can just take yours. Apart from saving others work some people aren't even able to create their own content but with such a platform they wouldn't have to rely on stock content anymore when they want to create their own maps and learn to make their own content later. If you don't feel like sharing content from your own maps you can still post stuff from maps you didn't finish. Nothing is too small to post.
When I was a newbie I was always looking for an Unreal-specific site where I could download textures and StaticMeshes but I never found a good one. Now I want to build my own one. You can share everything there, sounds, scripts, staticmeshes, models, textures, map-parts, links to your favorite free texture websites, etc.
Sharing and Caring.

The other important part is the tutorials section where you can post tutorials. Even if you just explain small things like, say, light effects, you can post it as a tutorial there. I will include it in a big list then so it can become a part of one uber-tutorial so to speak. I wrote some on my own already so you can already check out the section to see how it's supposed to work.
UnrealEngine 2 Tutorials.

The language used is English but of course it doesn't have to be pitch perfect English or else I'd be the first user to be banned. :D
Don't be shy.

I will admin the place to make sure it stays comfortable and useful for everybody and I will contribute some more tutorials myself over time.
I will also personally provide all the support an advanced newbie such as myself can provide if you come to the forum with an UnrealEd problem.
I will help with technical problems as well as artistic problems, for example by honest criticism of screenshots of your work.

I hope this post isn't regarded as advertisement. I'm not making a cent with this forum. All I want is to share my own limited UnrealEd expertise and create a platform for content to make life easier for every mapper who visits the site.

Nice, bookmarked

Btw what happend to UnrealEd.eu the page is broken for me :/ (403)
The typical summer-low hit it and the guys running it didn't have the patience to keep it up. The admin (Rigata II) had personal problems with me so I resigned from my moderator job and not long after that I was banned completely so I only know what people told me. It cost money to keep it up and basically no one used it so they took it down one day.

This new site has nothing to do with unrealed.eu. It's not a successor or the same site on another server. It's a completely new project, initiated and run by me. Former members of unrealed.eu are of course welcome.

Welcome to you spitfire. :) Enjoy your stay!
