New sever question

Okay guys I know you must be getting tired of my questions , but clanmates keep asking me to find out how we do things do the server .

1 . My question today is how do I increase the length of time that the message of the day is displayed ? The default time seems to be about 15 seconds and they want to increase it to 30 to 45 seconds . I looked in the ini file but no joy there so I looked at the .bat files still did not see anything but I probably just missed it .

2 . How do I get my log files to save to a folder rather than overwrite at startup ? Any help you could give me would be greatly appreciated .

your normal server login is often something like

http://123.234.345.678:8075/ServerAdmin/

if you run the ServerAdsSE mutator for spamming messages go to


http://123.234.345.678:8075/ServerAdsSE/

it got the same login as you have for webadmin.

Message of the Day is not part of the ServerAdsSE package , it is a function of the standard .ini file . Here is a small piece of my .ini file where message is contained as I said this is not part of ServerAdsSE . I have read the entire .ini and found no place to set message time .

I misread i thought you said time between when messages of the day get displayed so thought you mixed it up.

Anyway as there is no value for it in webadmin its probably configurable in the ini by default either. You can look for ut2k4 mutators that allow you to modify your message of the day (even put in a picture of your clan) and use that, although logically not all ut2k4 mutators work.

To display any kinds of messages there is only one way. Use the ServerAdsSe-Mutator!

and there was me thinking the message of the day actually was a message...stupid me

If you want to do your self a favour, leave away the most annoying ServerSpam mutator. Annoying enough to have to coop with people abusing the chat.
