Hmm, I suspected that, but the voice acting sounds very different to me. Maybe it's just the speed and inflection he says it with, versus my sloppy Canadian pronounciation of the word when I read it on paper hehe. Thanks for the info though :)

They are saying "Vpered" which literarly means Forward in russian. But it used here as to tell the other soldiers "Advance!"

Yup - it is, however, due to reasons of Russian phonotactics (which is about pronunciation, not military jargon) pronounced: "fpir-YOT"

You can see why in the pronunciation thread, the second 'e' should really have two dots over it to signify that it is YO not YE but hardly anyone ever bothers in Russia.

I don't know either german or russian, but a big issue with the sound for me is that it sound just like some guy is calmly reading the words up from a note, and not screaming them out in the heat of battle.

They should be more like the ones in DoD (not source), where the sounds would sound like they came from someone who was screaming on the top of their lungs to get the word out past all the gun fire and other sounds going on around them.

Word! More emotion would make it perfect. Liked the old dod voice commands very much.

"LOS LOS LOS!!!" "GRUPPE EINS UEBER LINKE FLANKE VORRUECKEN!!!"

"PANZAR-SHRECK!"

"DROP YOUR WEOPONS!"

God I loved DoD. The devs should really look at what DoD had and how they can improve RO with some of that stuff, because, IMO, DoD was an amazing game in all areas.

DOD:S has good voice samples for some funny conversations between axis and allies :)

Drop your Weapons!
Vergiss es!

Area clear!
NEIN!

But if someone wants really strange German voices, try out Dune2. As far as I recall the German voices were recorded by one of the american programmers of the game, who could barely speak German.

"Harvester Ready" -> "Mj

is it possible to listen to new samples without having the game?
...old ones were rotten for sure... it was correct russian, but actors and phrases they said ****ed, especially those that are about modern russian language, not WW2 time
