:D That's it Moe, the uniforms look tailored.

Thing is, they don't look like a soldier could move around in them on the battlefield too well either. ;)

I don't think this game would work in consoles, its all about precision and a gamepad doesn't have enough... the only way I see it happening is if they release the game with an special keyboard and mouse for x360 as some kind of FPS pack, just like the guitar heroes do with their games.

Maybe a lot of people would buy it just for "the FPS pack", and it would still be moar Dosh for TWI =P

Hang on hang on, I know PC elitism is fun, I myself like to call someone a Console Kiddie from time to time; but "RO is all about precision" - I couldn't agree less! Counter Strike is about precision, (Hell even that was ported) but my point is that consoles wouldn't get a worse experience, maybe even a superior one!

It's harder to aim quickly and precisely on consoles, which could mean MORE realism for the players.

That said, the only thing that would stop me considering a console version is that the graphics would have to be cut down to some degree.

-and of course there's the obvious problem of introducing a somewhat niche game to a platform that sucks up mainstream like no other.

...you think it doesn't take precision to kill an enemy who is two pixels wide?

The new screens tells the game is shaping well. Compared to the screens still visible on the website frontpage we can noticed its getting better and better. To me there is a huge difference between the first screens and the new shown pics.

One must realize its all work in progress and so are the uniforms.
I'm convinces they know what they are doing and looking fiorward to the next screen release.

Holy ball sack! Thanks steven! It is definitely looking unreal. I can't wait for this game!! I think it's my most anticipated ever... (well ok Starcraft 2 is close)

This pic in particular is breathtaking (in that battle torn landscape sort of way ;):

I don't mind it taking till 2nd quarter 2011. Not surprised at all really. I just want it polished to perfection. I'll have Civ 5 and Starcraft 2 to keep busy till then.

I just hate those RGB (0,0,0) black shadows. I mentioned this earlier, and I hope someone from TWI have read it. By reducing the contrast and making those extremely black shadows a bit lighter will add a lot to the visuals. Please!!!

THERE ARE KETTLES :p This batch of shots come from the same shot as the Kettle :p And for those of you who think it is too black, your monitor sucks. We had this conversation in IRC.

Sorry, haven't seen the IRC chat, anyone has a log?

My monitor doesn't suck. You might think that I'm nitpicking, but I'm not. I just have some experience with CG lighting and I know some people that are working with rendering and lighting (and they were those who pointed this thing to me).

If you look at the right part of the tank (the one closer to the camera), it's pitch black. The shadows on the cart, and under the roof on the building are very(!) dark as well.

The scene looks like a render in 3d studio without global illumination. And global illumination is responsible for lighting up the places which are not lit by direct ligth. I'm not saying that you should use global illumination, as it is almost impossible with modern hardware, at least to a reasonable detail. But there are methods to emulate it.

There's also a rule in photography, that says that there should not be any black(0,0,0) or white(255,255,255) spots on a photo.

I'm not arguing just because I have nothing better to do, Yoshi. I just want this game to be the best in its kind, from all points of view. And I get really upset when some of my friends say that the graphics already looks meh (and the game isn't even out yet).

The shadows aren't that black (it is pretty black but not 0,0,0 on that map in that location). But I can load up that map and it's not that black. Thought you were talking about another shot where zets was complaining in IRC that he couldn't see anything because it was black and he was informed everybody else could see it) and lighting isn't done on that map yet is the simple answer.

Lol whut? That was Xendance not me. I run on a correct colour calibrated laptop workstation for what its worth :p. Only thing I said that the grass looks to be the correct colour one would expect in in a dry location as in the shots, after Xendance jokingly called them too brown.
