New perk idea: Gunner

Simple really, they are a support class and wield Heavy Machine Guns such as M2 Browning or even Minigun.

Characteristics would be:

- High rate of fire with large magazine size (i.e ammo box or belt fed ammunition)
- Low overall damage
- Highly inaccurate in all but the smallest bursts
- Long Reload time
- (And especially) Provides suppression fire, slowing down zeds by a small amount (except fleshpounds, scrakes, patriachs etc), therefore ideal for groups of zeds.

Not sure if this would break the balance, just an idea. If done right it could add a bit of crowd control for those large groups of trash.

That and you're flat out WRONG. This idea is not only one of the most common ones I see but also one of the worst. Having MGs just means that everyone finds a long hall, sets up their MGs, and just wipes everything out no skill required!

And it makes absolutely no sense that support would use them. He's about High damage spikes against big bads and incredible CQB DPS. Why would he use a Mid-Long range MG? This thread is bad and you should feel bad.

No, Support Specialists wouldn't use it, I said MG would be "a support class" as in, they support others. Much like Medics are a support class. Low dps, low accuracy. Just an idea anyway. I don't feel bad for suggesting an idea. Maybe you should feel bad for getting so irrate when someone dares to suggest something new. If it's not going to work then so be it.

You're talking about heavy machine guns, and gatling guns ingame.

That's going to throw out balance to the point where this perk would be 6/6 on HoE.

FPs would be raped instantly upon sighting, and the Patriarch fight would last not even half as long as zerklejerking.

Both the weapons you selected as examples are used in static roles, or mounted on tanks/helicopters/aeroplanes.
