I mentioned this in another thread, but to solve this dilemma between shotgun <-> assault rifle, I figured that maybe, the AR variant would still house a shotgun firemode in it. Since they use the same ammunition, it could be plausible.

That way you get both AR and SG.

Or you just never upgrade to AR.
... or buy a shotgun as backup.

They should just put all the attachments on the gun at once and have them rotate around Gatling-style as the weapon switch animation. :p

I approve of this suggestion xD

Although srsly guys, it's just TWI to stop people having about 3 medi-guns and perma-spamming medidarts. Simple as. They're trying to change things they didn't like about KF1 and apparently one of those things is that as a medic, you can pretty much permanenetly fire healing darts. Forever.

That would be great. Medics are people too! They are not automatic dart dispensers without feelings.

May I ask a question? How does the upgrade work?

Can I buy 2 medic pistols and upgrade them so that I can get a shotgun and an AR in my hand, at the same time?

Or, does the medic own only one pistol (like the 9mm) and can upgrade it to either form, preventing the hold of 2 guns at the same time?

nobody that knows would be willing to risk their job telling us

however it's possible even dual wielding pistols is no longer a general ability.
each class has it's own starting weapon that doesn't mean every class has it's own pistol.

They are just seperated weapons you buy them like medic guns in KF.

Yeah, it's pistol > smg > shotgun > AR, which I don't think everyone's getting. As someone who likes shotguns more, I don't like the way it was described in the video.

Shotgun and AR are both balanced together from the sounds of it

Wait, but who said that medics won't be able to buy both shotgun and SMG together?

The way the modular weapon system worked in Star Wars: Republic Commando was great, they should do that.

Not thanking medics raises the likelihood of 'missed' healing darts in my experience

Or in case of a random player (because no matter how thankless, I always take care of my wife and friends x3), I might have just accidentally 'missed' that you were taking a chainsaw to the face. My bad.

Or the situation in your sig, I do laugh when I picture someone being atomised by their own pipe and complaining to their medic who is unfotunately incapable of reassembling them at the atomic level haha

I thought the medic gun upgrading was a bit of a "Gee whiz!" feature. Adds very little, it's just thematic and interesting (if you get into guns turning into other guns, I suppose.)

Means very little to me otherwise.

I thought the same thing. I didn't even consider that it was going to be integrated functionally. The weapon tier discussion did occur to me however, after watching the video. And then I immediately dismissed it. Unless they've changed things drastically, I imagine that ultimately, people would be able to select the weapons they want to use with comparable results between tiers (especially with the medic class).

You don't need to know
Am I the only one thinking that it might just be the medics starter weapon?
We all know that each class will have it's own starter pistol right, and we know that this medic weapon starts out as a pistol.

We also know that we will be given choices at various levels, which could mean that a higher level medic might have a choice to spawn with a rifle instead of a shotgun.

Am i the only one who thinks that the medic gun in pistol form is the weapon you start with as a Medic? since we heard that all classes have their own unique pistols to start with.
Also i believe that the upgrade system means upgrading your pistol. which, im sure would carry over from KF1, cannot be sold.

So yeah, Medic has an upgradable starting pistol. which could suggest at least some of the KF1 weapons could return as well assuming that the pistol can only be up/downgraded during wave breaks.

Got a source on that? I haven't heard that
I think each perk gets a unique knife and grenade, but they start with one of their tiered weapons, not specifically a pistol
e.g. medic - medic pistol, zerker - machete, firebug - fire axe? flare pistol? Should be interesting to see what some perks start with, especially demo
