russians crossing the river and attacking red square.

So they cross the river in order to reach Stalingrad but by accident they teleported to Moscow's Red Square? :D
And if I remember there was a map in RO:OST, where you could jump on to the boat, and listening to the "Sacred War" storm on Stalingrad :IS2:

Well there's Mamayev of course, that's currently in the beta and will be released with the next patch. Other maps are definitely coming.

The maps I, and many others, are looking forward to are ones that are large and require half tracks, but TWI is only going to start work on halfies after they're done with the next two tanks.

Other than that there are many maps being worked on community members that, due to problems with the SDK and the system that downloads maps in game, have been taken off the server map cycles. The fixes to these issues *may* be included in the next patch. The best (so far) example of map work (not to say that the other's maps are bad, but this map is not just placing of objects but the entire creation of new ones!) is harley's map, the latest screenshots of which are at http://forums.tripwireinteractive.com/showpost.php?p=1062889&postcount=569

Also, many of the maps made great in Ostfront were from mod competitions, where modders competed to make the best map and the best mapper was awarded a prize. I hope to see these competitions come around again once the SDK problems are fixed.

Looks like a nice map! Looking forward to trying it out.

I also enjoyed the beta versions of the community maps Butovo and Provkhoy (particularly Butovo, Provkhoy needed some serious balancing)

Personally I'm not a huge fan of either tanks or combined arms. I like Infantry only the best.

I can't wait for fixes to the server map downloads so we can start seeing more community maps. The maps we have are very well made, but nothing beats having a huge variety of maps from the community. I'm still hoping that someone who knows more about this stuff than I does a remake of the RO1 map, kriegstadt.

In one of his update statements, Yoshiro has alluded to possibly 2 more maps past mamayev in the works.

Back in November Yoshiro stated that they were working on a map that the "RO1 crowd will get a kick out of". Theories at the time were that it was a remake of "Stalingrad Kessel" from RO1, though that maps wasn't entirely dissimilar to the playing dynamic on Station, so I wasn't too sure about that.

I wonder what he was referring to. Maybe it was Mamayev?

I think he might have been talking about Mamayev. Still though, can't wait to see what they have in store for us

Shameless promotion:

At great personal risk, The 50pc OF =TaT= custom map server is running 6 custom maps. Judging by it's position on gametracker, it has been well recieved.

Yes, you bet we are aware of the problems with these maps. But... I've been working very closely with our core players to get the maps permanently configured on their systems so that the download process can be by-passed. We've found that this gets folks past the vast majority of problems, and enables people to play most of the time without incident. Some of the maps are quite stable, others are twitchy enough to cause an occasional crash, but players whose systems and broadband are not resource starved are doing quite well. Many of you already know where to permanently place map files on your rigs. Take the time to do so. You'll love these maps. Come visit us.

Anyone doing any Berlin 1945 maps? I know it aint time-line accurate to Stalingrad but still, the gameplay would be awesome with maps such as K
