Hi, This is my first post on the forums.

I have never mapped for any of the unreal engines, But I have done a large amount of mapping for half life 2, so I have experience with the process.

I was wondering if there are any quick start mapping tutorials, maybe one that guides you through your first red orchestra map?

Grab the SDK Manual from your red orchestra folder or download it from here:

http://www.redorchestragame.com/download/p13_sectionid/5

Next, I would recommend bookmarking this page, because you're going to need it alot:

http://wiki.beyondunreal.com/

Then I recommend opening up any of the stock maps and seeing how they are put together.

And last but not least, come back here frequently and ask questions because you've already found the most supportive FPS community online.:)

Check your /redorchestra/Manuals folder for an SDK manual that will get you started and teach you about the RO specifics.

EDIT: You got me this time, Shurek.

There are a number of tutorials on this site to get you started including spawn, objectives, lighting, subtracting and adding space. on map orchestra site there were a few manuals on optimizing. in the book 'Mastering unreal technology, the art of level design' there is step by step guides on terrain, sky, emitters, volumes. finally, the sdk kit on steam *which doesnt work for me* allows you to open maps and see others work. there is a number of RO adds like RO*Spawn, factories, heir units, russian units, that is the unreal mod. so...lot of stuff out there specific for this and GOOD LUCK. don't forget the library of material in the static mesh library that is part of SDK.
