When you're trying to kill a Scrake who has raged, 5 bullets won't do. Indeed, 47 bullets won't do. But putting out 47 bullets and reloading sure feels a lot safer than putting out 5 accurate bullets.

I think his point was you can control the recoil even in full auto to at least make it reasonably accurate... so you'd be putting 47 bullets (hopefully) into the Scrake and not the ceiling.

He's saying how it does not have high recoil because you can shoot semi with ironsights. I'm saying it has high recoil because when you set it to full auto and fire with no compensation, you're hitting the ceiling, and with compensation, you're making a bloat sized target on a wall 50 feet away.

Some suggestions for tactics.

1. Always use semi auto
2. use the mac10 to mark targets
3. when perked 1 shot to the scrubs. set it and forget it.
4. hip fire. only use the sights for head shots. (husks mainly)
5. xbow is nice but a Flame thrower will still help the team more when taking down a scrake or fp(as long as your not targeted) because of the "crispy" animation and constant damage. Not all of those arrows hit the head when panicked

a mac10 thins the overall numbers of single specimens but your flame thrower will put them down by the buckets in groups. Your not a wall of death when use a mac10. Your more like a spear of death. Remembering the difference will save you and your team.

I've soloed a six-man hard with a crossbow and Mac-10 and back-ups. It's a lot easier than flamethrower considering the FPs look at you funny and then punch you in the face. Still took 3 bolts.

The best tactic I have learned so far is to keep using the Flame Thrower as your primary and Mac 10 as a secondary.

There I have shared my wisdom with you all, now I want my royalties!
but seriously mac 10 is a backup not primary.

I don't know. The flamethrower was the one weapon I never got used to. I've used the mac a couple times as a primary weapon recently, and to greater effect than the flamer. And it's light weight allows me to carry a flamer, thereby making my firebug complete. Or, if the team lacks SS, I can even carry an Xbow.

It seems like a valid primary to me:eek:

Did a few runs on Suicidal 6-man and can safely say the best combo is to simply stick to your specialized weapons: MAC10/FT.

MAC10 should mainly be used against Bloats and Husks (Although unless you have a reliable competent Sharpshooter the two might be secondary priority). FT still conquers the Crowd Control (CC) when things get out of hand and your teammates need to reload. Just follow that Firebug thread (nutterbutter thread made) on how to efficiently use the Flamethrower to it's full potential and you should be fine. If anything I would avoid being in the same line of fire alongside Commando since they still seem to do a pretty good job at CCing until Wave 7+. Then it's up to you on where you should position yourself. Remember to put MAC10 on Semi-Automatic if you want to get those clear headshots and not waste ammo.

Personally, I wouldn't go overboard and try to buy any Pipe Bombs mainly because it may very well be a nuisance to the team and do little damage to when it is needed most. Smokescreens are still double-edged as far as I can tell in Suicidal.

On Normal and Hard I usually go MAC10/Xbow whenever playing with random players and it does not appear people are prepared for Scrakes or FP. Therefore, I end up using the Xbow, albeit the combo is as OP as any other perk going X/Xbow in Normal/Hard difficulty. Here's to hoping they balance the xbow to where you have to go Sharpshooter to make it useful.

Seriously have people forgotten the Flamethrower exists or something? [...] If you want to focus on trying to HEADSHOT specimens with the bullet and letting the burning damage take care of the bleedout, then you have a reason to be using the Mac 10.
I prefer not having vision obstructing fire everywhere, so yeah, I'm not too crazy about the flamethrower.

Sure, the Mac 10 is primarily useful for the sake of offsetting the need for burn outs, but I wanted to mention that it can also do burn outs, and that it inflicts maximum damage this way, but, depending on the situation, simply gunning stuff down or getting headshots can also be viable strategies.

What.
It doesn't matter which part of the body you hit with your one shot, as long as you hit, it's toast.

So if anything, the mac is a lot more forgiving if you're bad at headshotting than, say, the 9mm.
I don't even bother trying to hit the head over longer distances and only headshot real close enemies.
Works for me so far.

Cept you shouldn't really be trying to level on Suicidal... at least not until you're level 5. Won't change the fact you may aswell use the Flamethrower if your more interested in setting them on fire for damage.

I disagree with this statement. I was playing 6man suicidal on with the host running server perks. I lost all my juice. By level 2 with a competent team you can serve your FB purposes very well. If you want to learn how to play as a bug do it this way. You will HAVE to run away from big baddies. You will need you mac 10 as back up because you'll be hosing down mobs more than usual. Its fun ,rewards teamwork, and with 1014 you make loot. Also with scrakes , if you pepper them with fire and have a full canister by the time he rages you can hose him to death while backpedaling. Dangerous but doable.
