In RO Ostfront the fall damage was fine.

In RO2. Jump into a trench. OUCH!!!

Not really safe, since if you fall from about 6ft, your screen flashes in red for second and your guy screams (if he's Russian) "TRAITOR! Look what you are doing! Stop firing!"
