I was talking with Ike a while ago, and I was wondering if anyone has any plans for a new, casual RO:OST clan.

I was thinking it could be german based (because the Kar98k is WAY better than the Mosin-Nagant, in my opinion). But tell me what you think.

i find making clans are not as good as joining one, with my unit i spent so much time getting the german ranks, uniforms and stuff done. But making your own would be kool, realism is the only way to go

Well, I rather like the M-N and the SVT-40 was the original from which the G-43 was copied, after all. :p Besides, does the German Army have the PTRD or the PPSh? I mean, really now! ;)

Well, a "squad" sounds more like what we ought to be in RO:O instead of a "clan". I mean, the game isn't called "Hatfields vs. McCoys" is it? Not actually a "realism" clan where we necessarily have a website that looks like an outpost of either the OKW or STAVKA or the field HQ of one or the other Division of the War. I certainly wouldn't want to play only one side or the other in battles ... oh, are they called "maps"?

How about a clan called .... First Squad, Second Platoon, #3 Company, First Battalion, 4th Rifle Brigade ... no, too clumsy. Well, any way, how about forming a clan that's organized like an infantry platoon, with two squads of six each plus a platoon Hq of four? Squads made up of two fire teams of three each: one of 3 SMGs one of 2 rifles and 1 LMG; platoon Hq is Commander, and three others, choosing appropriately so as to provide support for the two squads depending on what the scenario/battle/map is like. And we call it "First Vzvod-Zug". And if we play in Leagues or Ladders where the limit per game is 8, then we field one Otdeleniya/Grup with two extras from the Vzvod-Zug Hq with the support weapons best for that particular battle. And make other adjustments to our playing field strength as the battle briefing and map suggest to be best.

If that's okay then we have to decide what voice comms we use, what our team colours are, what shoes we ... oh, not football is it. Well, maybe what voice comms. I have both T.S. and Ventrilo; choose one of those, okay? Maybe some kind of logo .... password, secret handshakes .... *shakes himself* not those either. Need suggestions for website stuff. I lean toward just a forum/BB and I have PhpBB 2.something. Well, what do you think SpiffyBuddha?:D

[edited in]: I forgot: I'm in the Central Standard Time Zone in the U.S. which is GMT -6. How about you, S.B.?

well, I'm all kewl with that........... sounds like you've been thinking Ike, lol

sounds fun. I really like the name "S.B.", very creative.

we could be either russian or german, but in the mod I always get made if I can't join german. I guess I have to adapt, but german rifles make me happy.

Anyone who wants to join the "new clan", which is what it shall be called until we come up with something better, just send me a private message.

P.S.: I may drop the ball a little on this clan due to the fact that my education is soon to be going to the next level, so the dreaded: HOMEWORK:mad: will be upon me.

O, ya, my friends and I have a ventrilo server and we could use that (if TS is not the REQUIRED mode of communication)

EDIT: I will be passing leadership of this "new clan" to Ike, or anyone who seems fit to lead a clan, so message me if you think you have the ability to lead a clan with Ike (I will still be hanging out in the background as a NORMAL member). Thank you.

Ventrilo is fine with me. And, at least until we have more members, I'll accept leadership of "First Vzvod/Zug". You can PM me or post here. I'll try to have something up here - like an outline of what the clan will be - tomorrow evening if anyone is interested. I may be able to find a host for a web site, but not one with a forum yet. That will take time.

The idea I have is a platoon-sized clan, see my post above for that. We play both German and Russian sides in battles, but we're partly "realism" in that we have ranks from Lieutenant down to Private - in German and Russian. Player picks his rank from the list, depending on his position. There are positions for one officer, one senior sergeant, two sergeants, and four corporals - all in German and Russian of course. Total size of the clan is 16, organized into two squads of six men in each one; two teams of three per squad. Plus the Platoon Hq of four which includes the Lieutenant and a Support Team of three which is armed depending on the map. "Realism" also means we really do team work and drills and practices. We want to win and win a lot! :D

We'll play league, ladder, matches. I'm going to try to figure out a campaign method for RO:O, that adds some more things to it, not in game but between battles. Details later, I just got the idea.

Anyone who wants to join post here for now or PM me. Oh, and for any who want to know: I organized a squad for WW2 Online before the game came out and had a website for it, the whole schmere. I have a clue, just need time to get RO:O figured out; never played this one before.
