OK so I've put like 50+ hours into this game. I'm not the best but I'm not terrible. I think I'm Honor Level 40 or so, K:D of 1.2 or thereabouts. Probably pretty average.

Now most of my hours have been in Realism, so I really want to start unlocking things, and I'd think that at 50 hours of it, and Level 40, I'd have a few unlocks, but I don't. According to the in-game Profile and Achievements, I'm Frontline Soldier in Elite Rifleman and Elite Assault, and I should have unlocked a pair of pistols, but there's never any option to select them and it doesn't spawn me with them. Now aside from that bug, I have the bayonet for the Mosin Nagant Rifle, and that's it. It's getting frustrating that after so many hours I've achieved so little.

So what's a good strategy for unlocks? Is there anything I can do aside from just playing randomly to get a few unlocks? Good game strategies, grinding strategies etc. Also is there anything I can do to use the pistols that I supposedly have unlocked that I'm missing?

Thanks.

Yes, pretty nice

Pistols in Realism mode are disabled for assaults, riflemen, enginers. You will have these guns in Action mode, but Realism is much more funny. You have bayo on MN, so whole world is yours - as a rifleman Hero I am serious :D

You need to invest a lot of time gain enough points to unlock upgrades, especially in Territory game mode. Try to play countdown, every kill will give you 8(or 16?) times more points

Make sure you stick yourself inside objectives.... you get points for capping an objective and additional capping points if you cap it with team mates.

You get defending points if the objective is lost.

If you kill an enemy while you are inside an objective you get additional points.

If you kill an enemy who is in an objective, you get additional points.

If you are both in an objective, you get both above additional point sets.

If you are near your SL or TL and drop someone, you get additional points for protecting the squad / team leader.

You get points for resupplying a Machine Gunner.

Also keep in mind that if you continually switch from class to class to class every round or map, it will take you longer to level up a specific class. Stick to one class when you can and work on it for about a week.... you should quickly max out that class if you keep the above in mind while playing.

.... Or Farm Bots

Woo.. think this might be my first post..

but I'm also in the middle of levelling up as well..

Farming bots does have its advantages, there's no denying it..

Firstly you're not constantly dying (unless one of the SOBs is at some ridiculous level and snipes you from 100+m away..).. and it gives you a chance to get used to the aiming of each weapon..

Secondly, you're not scrabbling for kills either..

I know a lot of people recommended countdown, but if you're looking to upgrade Axis weaspons then personally I'd say get the Red Oktober level loaded up, find cover at the rear of the first shed and it's literally like shooting fish in a barrel.. if it's you on your own in that server then you can literally get 200+ kills per match.. I levelled the G41(w) to lvl25 in a couple of hours the other day, so it's not too unslow.. And you also get a shedload of points as from a position at the rear you get most shots in the objective zone

I've just found countdown matches a bit crowded and if you're trying to upgrade a rifle then it's a bit hard to do when someone else is wanting to spray everything with the MG34... :/

obviously bots aren't the be all and end all, that's for sure.. nothing can compensate for the unpredictability of human players..

All I can say is pick the weapons you really want to level and play those as much as possible. I think at about 150 hours I had PPSh, MG34, M-N 1890 and Kar 98k all at level 25, and those are the only upgrades I really wanted.

There are a few people on these forums who got their pistols maxed out, and for that all I can say is "grind".

My advice, don't try to level up. Just play the game, have fun, and let yourself level up naturally. Otherwise, you'll level everything up at lightning speed and then have no more levelling up to look forward to.
