I didn't really play the first one that much because I didn't know anyone that played it but from what I remember it seemed like a cool game, anyone know how far they are away from a beta?

I never really got into the game but it was no doubt one of, if not the best hl1 mods. So many possibilities, the great art direction etc.

In that trailer though the alien looks too 'robotic' imo instead of really alien like with slime & stuff.

I'll buy it depending on the play system, if it was like 1.4 where hives were actually important and created valuable map key points and unlocked new monster classes so one could feel the flow of the game I'd buy, but if its like the stupid 2.0 system I'll pass

Played the original to death and LOVED it. One of my all-time favorite games/mods. I've been wating forever for the sequel. It will be epic! :D

However, I never played as Aliens. I hated that, probably because I sucked as them. But playing as marines was great.

Very excited about this one. Anyone who hasn't tried NS but do so immediately. Even with the ****ty graphics the game still rocks and is totally unique.

I wish they were charging more though. $19.95 makes it look like a budget game.

$34.99 would be better.

To me (what I've seen from screens/trailers) the aliens have totally lost heir slimyness and together with that the 'oh ****' effect.

I guess this counts as 1/3 new. I'm quite surprised, such a radical change is controversial to say the least (over 320 comments!). I have to agree with many of the comments that it doesn't look as aggressive as the marine's other equipment. Also, a name that doesn't sound anything like Taser is desperately needed (though I guess it actually needs a name in the first place).

This was an UNBELIEVABLE game, and still is to this day. I played NS for the longest time and couldn't even mention one downfall in the game if asked one. Hopefully they do a good job with the sequel. I hope they keep bunnyhopping in, it was the only way to survive as a skulk or gorge.

Skulk reveal. I didn't like this one as much, I wanted the skulk to graphically make sense this time around. How four spikes for legs = wall cling never made sense to me since beta 1. Also, the camera is still inside the mouth yet the eyes are on top of the head (like before, doesn't make sense). At least he will have more HP to be more effective in late game (loses parasite ability though :() .

Pre-ordered just now. Only have my old laptop available which couldn't play the beta properly. But it looked really nice from what I saw.

I always liked NS1 even if I didn't really understand it.

I'll probably be getting 2 once it's finished.

This and RO2 are pretty much the only games I've been seriously anticipating. NS is probably the only game I've got more time in than KF, for one simple reason: unpredictability. When you have a FPS/RTS where teamplay is so absolutely necessary for survival, there are so many ways the game can progress across the maps you could never see them all. The need for teamplay, tactics, and twitch skill are pretty much even - you need them all to stand a chance. I remember a particularly epic game on a consistently packed 32 player server that went for over 4 hours of fully teched teams beating each other across the map only to have the other make a last-second comeback... Definitely the most memorable video game I've ever played as well; that battle took place about 5 years ago.
