When I checked my profile today I have apparently killed over 1000 enemies without actually playing the game, and gained about 15 steam achievements. Is there a reason for this?

This is happening to quite a lot of people. It happened to me and I even unlocked new weapons thanks to it.
Honestly I'm hoping Tripwire fix this and then decide to reset stats and Achievements because personally I'd like to unlock these things for myself.

Really annoying considering how much I have actually played the game, and how little of my stats are recorded / saved. I can't get any experience in squad leader AND 75% of my experience for other classes do not even get saved. just reverts back to what it was before. This is complete bull**** considering I've been more than patient and truly haven't seen such problems with the statistics alone in any other game ive played at beta and beyond.
I would like the option to reset my stats also. At the moment i don't even feel like playing it much since i can't even progress my own character. I played final version few hours and my honor jumped to 79 and got 5000 kills and 1000 deaths, also countless of achievements 
Sure character developing isn't main point of the game but all the **** combined it is like a last straw making me quit soon if not fixed.

Ya this just happened to me too. All Achievements just unlocked, I had a .59 k/d now its 2.74 k/d with 5725 kills / 2088 deaths, and I'm now L84 with 70,329 pts, WTF! Give me a reset stat button or roll back stat button, cause now I have no reason to play.

same thing!!! Just bought the game last night, played for like 4-5 hours, absolutely loved it! the ranking system is indeed successful to my mind)) But when I woke up today and started playing I have miraculously aquired a number of ne achievements and rediculous stats that would only make sence if I had played for like a week or 2 non-stop.
tripwire, you've made a good game but what was the point of releasing it if these types of problems occur?! please fix it as soon as possible, because a blurring pixel doesn't spoil the gaming experience unlike this bug that causes nothing but utter boredom while playing!!!
