For me, the inclusion of camouflaged uniforms etc. is a must! It's just too...boring seeing everyone in almost identical uniforms.
By the way, keep an eye out on this thread:

Once they are done, they could be used on Custom maps quite nicely...

I think is important to put a few things in perspective. First, the inclusion of these items would be desirable, but at this point in time, it's going to have to be up to the efforts of modders, just as it was in RO1. If people expect tripwire to do this, it is almost going to have to be for sale downloadable content. And I know how some folks feel about that. But if you want it free, you had better start praying to the modder god.![]()
Hence I said for custom maps. We already have some that aren't set in Stalingrad.![]()
The P08 was common but if you would get your facts right you see that this was also not a "ww2 weapon" but also already used in WW1. I think the devs just wanted some a nice pistol that is not a sigh you see all day. Also the C96 was in fact still used in ww2 (espescially the full auto version).
2. I have yet to see proof that the MG42 was used in Stalingad in a ammount of numbers that would justify it being in the game in the Stalingrad scenario maps.
Modders are currently doing the MG-42. No need to discuss it.
You can either go historically- or gameplay-wise. It was decided - through experience - that players taking squad leaders are taking this class for the weapon, neglecting the importance of the role as forward scout providing artillery coordinates for commander (and it's very important to have good artillery mark). In classic mode it is historically wrong and therefore sucks a lot that squad leaders are equipped with bolt action rifles instead of submachine guns.
One can debate a lot about the inclusion of the MKb-42, but the game mechanics are just wrong. According to Wikipedia the recoil of this weapon should be half of that of the Kar 98, but even the MP-40 is much more precise and therefore effective while firing.
