At Frist: Nice to the that the best shooter game ever get a new life.
I Love RO:Ostfront, and i will buy RO:HoS for sure.

BUT - i have seen the Video about RO:HoS on the Gamescom at YouTube now.
And there are a few things that make me feeling a little bit bad about "HoS"

1) The Players move a little bit to fast (like CoD  )
2) The MG-Gunner (MG-34) holding his weapon wrong, at first it doesn't look very good and at twice it's not a tipical handling for a MG.
I think this handling is much more realistic.

3) There are to much coloured items on the screen, like the blinking russian "Red Star", or the "Radar" i don't won't this "future hi-tech" in a WW II game, and i think it is a step back.

4) If there will be tanks at HoS i hope there will be a much better 3rd person view, i mean that infantry can clearly see if the tank tracks are damaged, or "Were is the Tank-Commander looking"

5) Much better (realistic) tank damage system, with more possibilitys like turret damage, better chance for a track damage when i aim and fire on it.
And also important: After a hit on the amour the tank have to be destroy or not, but it's boring that i can shoot em down with 3 shoots (yellow, red, destroy) That is like shoot down some healthpoints, but it is not realistic.

6) Tank crew have to need much more time for leaving the tank, it's crazy when a crew-member leave the tank in 1 sec. kill the enemy with the satchel or Panzerfaust and jumping back into the tank .
The sweetest thing will be when it is complete animated when the crew leaving the tank (open the spots and standing on the tank near the spot, than the player can decided to enter the tank again or jumping to the ground)

I hope HoS will be much better than all other Shooter before, but the Gamescom Video on YouTube make me thinking critical about it.

ps: Sorry for my bad english, i hope you understand what i try to tell you.

The game wants to work with a fov zoom when aiming so you can see closer to real life sizes.

But because the default view got a 80 degree fov that will make distances seem 2x as far than in reality (on a 20" monitor). But you will get there with a realistic timeframe, aka it seems as if you walk 2x as fast as you should in first person. But the speed is actually measured by a dev running with full gear.

I have shoot with the german MG-3, its nearly the same like the MG-42, and I have firing it like the Tamyia man.

I don't have try it like the guy in the "Sturmfeuer" video, but i see both ways are working.
And that he can't keep the balance in the first part isn't because he hold it like the "Tamiya man", it's only because he stand in a wrong position with his legs.

But by the way i think that the "Tamiya man" style looks much better :D.
But it is ok like it is in the game is ok, now. looking only a little bit strange for me.
In RO:Ostfront you holding the MG-34/42 in the same postion how it is in RO:HoS, but you can't see your arm and hand so clearly.

But what is about my other points?

- Would HoS have any vehicles included?
- Would be the overview map and compass in an "old used style"? And it would be nice if you can handle the map like a real map, too.
You take it out of your pocket and unfolding it - and than you can throw a look on it. ;)

Oh - i can't wait for seeing the finished game

oh it's possible.....just not the way COD has you shooting it! :D

gotta wonder about accuracy though

Roffles at CoD. Like an SMG or something.

He kept the barrel pretty straight when firing in full auto. Probably more or less the same as any other weapon, although aiming it from the hip would be pretty unproductive, I think.

One of the big disappointments (in an otherwise favorite game) is the lack of tanks + infantry attacks.

----

COD:UO and Battlefield 1942 had tanks play a big role but I think that the tanks were 'over-complicated' in Ro2. While seeing the inside of a tank is cool, the arrangement is not the best for multiplayer.

If anything, they'd do well to simplify the tank so it can be deployed by one player.

What do you exactely mean?

Easier tank control? So that one player could easy drive a tank.
Or
Easier tank model (like in every other game and like it is in RO:Ost)? So that a modder could easier can create a new tank model?

Easier tank control, so one player can drive a tank. The tanks in COD:UO were a lot of fun (but far too streamlined and fast firing/fast moving) and improved the game immensely.

This makes the infantry more oriented towards anti-tank activities so engineers/At gunners with their satchels/mines/at guns become much more important.

There should be 2-5 tanks on each side per map (just like in COD).

The new tanks should, however, move and fire as realistically as those in RO2 so they should have slower turret rotation and slower-firing rate than COD tanks.

Yeah, I agree. Tanks are important.

I never played the original RO or RO:OST so I don't know.

The tanks in Battlefield 1942 were fine as well. (2 man tanks, one man drives, the other man shoots).

The advantage of having one man tanks is that it ensures that the tank will be always used and the fighter will die in or around their tank. It keeps the momentum of the game going and the tank operates smoothly. So tanks are always in the fight, and dying rather than being parked somewhere in the rear.

Some of the best gameplay moments I had in cod:uo were knocking out tanks with bazookas, panzershrecks, and panzerfausts.

I had noticed back then that 2 man tanks of BF 1942 were often 'in and out affairs' and a bit frustating since a second crewmember wasn't always to be found. The tanks were often rather wonky in this manner, as one player would switch back and forth.

I honestly would prefer it if tanks were simplified not only to be easier to control but also to make it easier on modders trying to make custom vehicles. Making it almost like a tank sim was a big mistake, imo.
