I have no idea why you got so much lag. Such a shame it ruined the game for you. I've played on servers with 150+ ping and still had a smooth game.
And for the record, L4D had much much more marketing, time, team members and money spent on it. So it's kind of unfair to compare the two (see the countless other "L4D vs KF" threads).
Hopefully a few more updates will restore your faith in the game.

On the map point,dude....just ***** wait until modders come with maps,then,you will realize what BIG means.....
Fair enough but there's achievements in l4d too, so dont complain about that plus you dont even have to pay attention to them if you dont want to. Perks system imo is actually pretty cool and adds a bit of depth and longevity to the gameplay.
I do agree though about voice comms, the browser and it wouldnt hurt to have some bigger maps not to mention more gametypes but that will come in time given the sdk is out. Keep in mind this game will improve a great deal within a few months so atm your not impressed that much is clear but check back in a couple of months chances are the game will be alot more polished plus have bucket loads of content by then.

Or how about, take the game for what its worth and if you don't like it don't play it. The game has sold well and i see lots of servers and lots of interested people... it stayed (mostly) true to the mod and is great fun to play, it dosn't need changing in any way, just improving/patching now.

Worst quotes I've ever heard in my life. Makes me cry. Left 4 Dead first off is a different game, that aside.. I MUCH prefer the intense gameplay found in Killing Floor. The immersion level is far deeper and the entire game in my mind is more enjoyable.

Sorry, i'll mark my next post with /sarcasm incase i run a risk of you missing it again. I'm sick of all the comparison threads and it just made me laugh that this guy was suggesting taking all the l4d stuff and putting it in kf >>
Well, the whole point of KF isn't to progress through a level, it's to survive. The trader does spawn randomly, so it forces you to move through the level over time. If you want time to set up, you usually have to start heading over to her at the tail end of each wave. Or you can always get overrun in your current position and have to book it.
As for guns needing to be more expensive or "fearing no-one" because you've got a shotgun, maybe you need to move up a difficulty level?

Oh yes mate.I have great hopes for this game.But at the moment its a bit shallow.Its unfortunate that this didn't come out before L4D.As that has raised the bar in the front end and chat.

No its not.I paid for both and both are the same type of game.Survive.If this was a free mod then fair enough.Buts its not a free mod any more.
I have played RO for about 18 months off and on and the fact that KF still uses the same voice and server browser is just not good enough.The world has moved on since RO came out.

Make it more like the BEST bits of L4D.The chat side,friends side,HUD.

It is in my opinion the most horrible piece of **** serverbrowser i have ever had to use.
Basically it looks for a server on its own but like 75% of the time i get a server that gives me 200 ping.
I want control, damnit! It just feels so random, you cant look at a server list at all unless you use a console command.
That is considered good?

UT2004's Browser is no better. Both have their issues and suck in some way.

No mate as i keep saying.
The friends side of it is good.The fact as soon as i load the game it tells me who is playing.Then gives me the option to join their games.RO used to have friends list a while ago but that got took off for some reason.Bad move as game needs them.
Just FYI guys, we are currently tossing around the idea of putting a Friends Tab in that will look through your Steam Friends and list the servers they're playing on. I can not yet make any guarantees that it's going to get in there, but we are listening to the needs of the community and doing our best to react to them.

We got it listing MORE servers that Steam's Server Browser even manages to show, which means it should now show the *whole* list. We also improved the Filters, which can be set via the button in the lower left button of the Internet Server Browser tab.

That'd be very nice, while shift+tab to get the steam friends list is fine sometimes it doesnt quite work and id much prefer an ingame option that works 100%.
Actually I cannot see myself playing L4D ever again now 5 of my mates can join me for what feels a more real experience. Compare the silly hordes that charge in L4D that you mow down easily to the tricky buggers in KF from all directions. That said we set FF on and increased the difficulty. We rarely even reach the Patriarch after wave 7 its so hard. No one complains they just all love the realsim and survivalism. That's a KF fanboy right here folks.
Oh i don't know mate.you will be missing out on some fun maps.
We have just started playing through the power station maps.Laugh i about wet myself.Booby traps every where lots of switches to switch and stuff like the roof falling on you.
Hopefully stuff like this will be added to KF.
