Weapon proficiencies:

'We've basically given every weapon an experience bar
'This allows you to get better with your weapon of choice [...] your weapon itsself gets better'
'I can unlock reduced kick [...] that stabilization on firing is what makes me a better player'

Ahh those bast**ds:mad:, stealing our beloved progression system (/sarcasm) next they'll be after out cover system and team based gameplay as well.

Isn't it wierd how COD takes all the bad stuff that games have and somehow makes it popular? And the "preorder now for XBox 360" thing, well *insert Microsoft hate and rant about their abandonment of PC here*, not that it matters.

Funny.

Have anyone been thinking how more less innovative RO2 is compared to RO ost? Tripwired basicly added a lot of stuff we see in COD (which is the standard for FPS games) such as perks, unlocks, blabla.
It's still more innovative than COD, as I've said before, if they just remade RO:Ost they'd catch a lot of flak for just iterating like COD

I don't completely agree with that. Compared to many other games RO2 is still very innovative (even though less than RO ost) but in my op opinion COD is extremely innovative. It did create something new. Something that basicly all FPS tries to copycat right now.

Including itself. Don't get me wrong, I loved every one right up until MW, but the rest after that all just feel the same to me (with the possible exception of WAW) and it looks like MW3 is headed in exactly the same direction.

Well, I can't say much about that since I stopped playing COD after COD2. It is very easy to realize that COD has a HUGE impact on the whole community since the game is so successfull. It's a very innovative game, or at least was, and that's why people play it, and that's why other LESS innovative games tries to copy this. Now, it seems like it's coming to a stage where the innovation that once existed have come to an halt and the same crap is released over and over agian. But after all - this is the GAMERS FAULT. The only reason why gaming companies do such thing is because IT WORKS. If the majority of peopel didn't accept they would have to change. A gaming company doesn't decide their quality on their game. Their customers do, and what they accept, they get. If no one bought it there would be no more business for them. Even though I personally consider COD's gameplay as something so brainless and boring that there is no definition of it It's still A LOT better and more innovative than those hundreds of other games that tries to copycat COD in order to achieve the same success.

Medal of Honor anyone? I never bought any after MW1 but did play a little of the newer ones and as I said, found them to be pretty much the same. I really don't understand exactly what the appeal is, for players that is, I can easily understand why other devs want a slice of that playerbase, but why is the playerbase eve there to begin with?

I actually like player progression, to a certain extent.

I DO NOT like player progression that gives a clear advantage for those who have played the game more, balanced progression is always the best progression. So this progression will be fairly annoying for some, due to the fact they still have to use the gun without the progression they want for a period of time, means others have a bit of an advantage.

This is why Im not a fan of call of duty anymore, its just getting stale, with the same overpowered weapons that rule the game. Battlefield and Red Orchestra atleast offer somewhat of a challenge.

Who cares about how the game looks? All of the unlocks are new!

Playing the game is what you do in between looking at your medals and unlocks, and setting up your kits, after all. :p

I nearly posted a serious reply then I detected the sarcasm

I saw that video and though, what? Thats MW2! Oh wait its not, there just doing the exact same thing on a slightly upgraded engine. They should be ashamed, I hope no one will buy MW3.
Cheers! :)

Epic quote, defining the new generation of shooters in a nutshell.

Edit: Sigged.
